We staied one night only. i am thinking one night unfortunatelly. PORTO ercole is a beautifull small town, its a seaside place with a fantastic panoramm and small castell. The castomer service was perfect. The all staff who we met was very kind, with lots of smile. Restaurant service was for 5 stars. Missing the time after the long driving way we ate the second course only, the sommelier adviced us some wine from Sardinia, which was really grate.
Thank youvery much. >Ottimo

STRUCTURE: only hotel resorts that can be defined in the whole coast of Italy, great cluster of villas on the Argentario promontory, overlooking the sea, secluded, a haven for lovers of silence, the sea, peace and the class trends in Italy. If you seek the classic American mega resort that is not for you, here you can still feel the OLD ITALIAN SCHOOL, luxury home, the simplicity of perfection, the service and courtesy. Free parking, two tennis tenniss, large Mediterranean garden overlooking the sea, panoramic terraces everywhere, umbrellas and deck chairs on the concrete platform on the sea, heated saltwater pool.
LOBBYING: small but nice, the painting of the dog behind the concierge would be glad to bring it to me:))) entrance to the Hotel very romantic.
ROOMS: Although I am a regular customer of the hotel (I stayed here at least five times), I never received any upgrades, no special rate, no bottle of room and no welcome welcome note. You get what you pay no gift as often happens in other hotels. The best rooms are in the main building or in the former Villa Marzotto, the minibar is included in the price, the furnishings are elegant and white marble bathroom are really fine, the windows you have views and fantastic sunsets, most rooms have a terrace or private garden.
RESTAURANT: I tried both restaurants and even hotel room service, my favorite restaurant for lunch with tables between the spices of the garden. Dinner, I was never satisfied with that much as the tables outside are too attached to one another.
SWIMMING: beautiful saltwater pool with panoramic views. Private elevator access to the sea by concrete and Puntila ..
PERSONAL: friendly staff, satisfy your every request.
What I liked most: swimming pool, furnishings, staff, gardens, a sense of exclusivity
What I like least: nothing to part you do not treat me like a regular customer and the thing I'd really :))).
OVERALL: a window on the sea and the good life.

Room Tip: rooms in the main Villa

We wanted to get away from it all and enjoy the last days of summer. We decided to go
three nights to Il Pelicano.
This is a perfect Hideaway and you feel like in a time capsule back to the 60th.
You expect that Peter Sellers comes around the corner and looks for Brigit Bardot.

The views are a bit like in Amalfi without tourists. The two star restaurant is pricy but
from highest quality. We absolutly fell in love with the place.

Room Tip: ask for room 14 ( a junior suite) it has a fantastic sea view and a separate terrace

Il Pellicano is a stylish hideaway.
Our experience was one of manicured grounds smelling of rosemary and pine, smiling helpful staff, and tucked-away places to sit and enjoy the view of the sea.
There is a cosy, almost "country house party" feeling about this hotel, even though the estate is very large and on lots of different levels.
The guest "cottages" are tucked away in the garden, while all the restaurants and bars are at the main house. This makes some of the rooms in the main house prone to noise disturbance from the kitchen.
The beach is a sand-less rock plateau, but really beautiful & tranquil, (except for the screams of shock from guests discovering how cold the wonderfully clear sea is!)

The hotel has a very unique feeling and atmosphere.
If you want a holiday somewhere that is VERY quiet, and stylish in a laid-back comfortable way, then you'll probably enjoy Il Pellicano.

Room Tip: The guest cottages are more tranquil than the rooms in the main house.

Impeccable, warm, personalized service. Top-notch amenities. Modern rooms, spacious bathrooms (but beware of a design mistake that is a step that you can't help but bump into as you enter the bathroom, and one that you almost always miss, since it blends in with the floor, so that's a lawsuit in the making). Great decor.

None of that impeccable service exists at the main restaurant, where we've had to wait for someone to pour wine (which we ended up doing ourselves) and an unacceptably long time between dishes. Food was not memorable.

Beautiful beach/platform area.

Overall, the place lacks a WOW factor and is soulless. It did not leave us with "We definitely want to come back here".

Would I recommend it? I guess. But I would describe it as nothing special.

Oh, and tennis courts are carpeted with lots of dead spots.

Horrible rip off in the middle of nowhere is the only way to describe this glorified Holiday Inn. It has nice views and good food but the rooms are outdated and dirty. Apparently, they have not gotten the memo here about infectious diseases. The "gym", which is comprised of 2 machines and some weights in a closet, offered headsets that were not sanitized after use. Beach towels in the room, for use on the patio, were simply folded rather than replaced after they were obviously used, and the minibar had an open and half consumed beer in it. If you make the mistake of coming here in spite of this review, bring antibiotics; you will undoubtedly need them.

This hotel is fantastic! It has a totally cool retro feel to it. I kept expecting to see Steve McQueen walk around the corner. Seriously, a very lovely hotel, fantastic 2 star Michelin restaurant, and a delightful staff. I highly recommend Il Pellicano for a relaxing vacation.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The elegant five-star hotel, located in Tuscany's Maremma region, was built in the mid-1960s as a love nest for Michael and Patricia Graham and it is today part of The Leading Hotels of the World. The home, called Il Pellicano as a tribute to the first time the couple met at Pelican Point in California, was initially a club for the Grahams' friends, but was subsequently expanded and opened to friends of friends. However, a few things remained the same: the pleasure of feeling at home and the glamorous and slightly retro atmosphere. The hotel's discrete luxury and the still-rugged Tuscan countryside attract the international jet set. Today, the cottages and the central building are suspended between the sky and the sea, with large rooms, windows and terraces where it's unclear where the indoors end and the outdoors begin. There are pathways and stairways, fragrant gardens and discrete corners, a restaurant with one Michelin stars and three Gambero Rosso forks, a heated sea-water swimming pool, a spa with a sea view to soothe both the body and the soul, and for those wanting to take a dip in the Tyrrhenian Sea, a white platform with chaise longue and immaculate parasols. ... more   less
