I love this hotel. The apartment was exceptional and big. The staff was very good. I don't have the best view but the rest was top. I recommend this. And Sardegna was a paradise. Very beautiful. For sure, I'm coming back. Wait for us. :)

Room Tip: With a sea view.

We traveled to this resort after a week in Africa. We had hoped that our trip to Sardinia would be the highlight of our trip, but unfortunately, this resort left a lot to be desired. The location is beautiful, but the resort itself - at least what we saw of it - is fairly rundown and neglected. Lots of construction was going on during our stay, so hopefully this is indicative of new management trying to bring it back to the day when it first earned such a high rating.

Our first room (M116) was dank, mildewy and cost. A horrible combination to say the least. The phone didn't, hot water was non-existent (until a maintenance man came to look at it), and the overall appearance of the room furnishings looked to be quite dated. When we asked to be moved, we were shown two additional rooms that were just as bad as this one. We were informed that many guests were checking out the next day and they would show us additional rooms then.

The following day, we were shown an additional two rooms, which were both adequate (not spectacular, mind you, but at least a step up from the first room). We ended up taking the room, which had a good view of the sea, was a top-floor room with more light than our first room, so no musty smell and the furnishings seemed to be in better repair (although still quite dated).

The room had hot water (plus), a working phone (plus) and a larger mini-fridge than the first room (plus). The water pressure, unfortunately, was laughable. We had to dance around to get wet for our shower, but overall...we survived. The TV got a good amount of satellite programs, but unfortunately, everything was in Italian (yes, I know, we are in Italy...but most places/countries get at least a few English channels for foreign guests - if nothing more than news). After a little fooling around with the remote, we figured out that some of the Italian stations were being broadcast in English as well if you configured them correctly - we had to do this each time we went to that channel, however, as it seemed to be a temporary fix instead of a permanent one. Not a big issue - we are on vacation - TV is just to wind down at night - not for the entire day.

It seemed we were at this resort during a low point, as very few guests were present and most of the shops were deserted/closed on the resort. Again - not sure if these are ever open or if it is just a hold-over from days past when this place earned the 4-stars.

Internet is available and free, although only in the lobby. No internet service is available or offered in the rooms. A small expense (a few WiFi routers strategically placed around the resort) would fix this issue, but it didn't see to be on their things to do/consider.

There is a mandatory 60 euro cleaning bill that you must pay upon arrival to have your room cleaned when you leave (isn't that part of the cost of doing business?). It wasn't a surprise to us, as we had read about others paying this fee, but it seemed odd to pay for room cleaning, when this is a resort, not a rented apartment or home that needs to hire special teams to come in after you leave. Again strange - and another sign that this place is on the downhill slope and needs some serious changes to get back to the higher rating it has listed on this website and many others.

Overall, I would be hard pressed to recommend this resort to anyone, unless you have absolutely no other choice. Again, it may have been a great spot at some point, but right now it is in dire need of some tender loving care. They may be in the process of giving that, but don't expect 4 Star quality at this particular time. Again, we were coming from Africa and this resort was 3 stars less than the place we stayed down there...

Caveat - the staff was very nice and helpful. They showed us around to other rooms. Worked to make us happy, even though they realized this wasn't what we expected based off past reviews and photos from 2008 timeframe. In the end, all their help and kindness couldn't overcome the lack of quality at this establishment. I hope that changes - as the location is very beautiful.

Room Tip: Make sure your room is on the top floor - more light, better view and less noise from upstairs neigh...

We got a really good deal with bookings.come and stayed one week back in Sept 2012. Fantastic location. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.

Already planning to come back.

The only downfall would be the fact that the restaurants were closed until like 6pm but it is common for Italy.

No room service available as well.

We choose this property for the location, the price and because there are apartment with hotel service.
Best choice for our holidays. We were a little group of 8 friends. 3 couples and 2 friends.
We were accommodated in 1 bilo (1 couples in double bedroom and the second one in the living room) and in 1 trilo ( 1 couple in the double bedroom and the 2 guys in the bunk bed room).
Perfect the little kitchen corner: we woke up very late in the morning ( the night life in Costa Smeralda is very very interesting J !!) and it was always too late to make breakfast at La Terrazza Sul Mare. We took breakfast in the apartment and a lot of times we cooking for the dinner … we had fantastic dinner in our terrace overlooking the sea!
At la Terrazza Sul Mare it is possible book breakfast, half board and full board: we prefer made everything by ourselves…but we taste some Sardinian fishes very good ( we suggest Fregola with shrimps and vegatables or spaghetti with ‘’bottarga’’ and seafood). Very good relationship between quality and price:
There was private beach too but we prefer to discover the beaches in the surrounding area ( Spiaga del Principe, Pevero,..) and we went to Maddalena Island and Budelli with a private sailing boat (massimiliano, we spent about 65 euro per person). Fantastic experience!!
Fantastic Sardinia! Fantastic Island !! many thanks to claudia, a very friendly and helpful person!
We want to come back!!

It's an amazing choice to stay in at Sardegna.
It's not expensive and the appartments are lovely, super clean, good beds, and very cosy.
The beach is nothing extraordinary, still it's nice to have a beach right next to the appartment.
I would say the down side is the slow check in, it took almost two hours... and the fact there are some many bees and insects flyng around at breakfast.

These beautiful selfcatering appartments are perfectly integrated into the surrounding nature with a breathtaking view over its private beach and the bay. The appartments and the terrace have a very good size and its a wondeful place to spend time. The selfcatering facilities really suited us since we were travelling with two small kids. The appartment was cleaned and sheets and towels changed every morning. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
We have immediately booked our next stay there. I highly recommend it.
