I guess I need to go to the gym more frequently, as by the time we climbed the steps and roads of the steep hill of Ponza I was sweating and out of breath. It was pretty hot. The Trattoria Monte Guardian was worth the toil as the reward was a stunning view, a deliciously prepared menu, and gracious hosts.
We had Spaghetti with Crabmeat, Mussels steamed In a lemony broth, and a large mixed salad that had olives, artichokes, tomatoes, and zucchini. A gorgeous mixture of fresh and, no doubt homegrown ingredients.
We also had the house white wine which is a locally made construction. very good.
Very nice place... viva Ponza!
