“A paradise within Paradise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2014

I have recently spent 5 nights at Hotel Villa Cappugi in Pistoia and I may say that it is one of the best hotels I have ever been. Apart from great services, food, restaurant and incredibly friendly staff, the location couldn't be better.
Room was nice, incredible views and the feeling of being in Paradise within Tuscany.
There is a big and well kept swimming pool in which I swam every day with the sound of distant barks, birds singing and occasionally church bells. The feeling of being back in time and in a village from childhood was linked to a fully 21st century hotel.
Free and fast wi-fi is also a plus.
Cannot recommend it more! Suitable for visiting Florence, Pisa, Lucca and travelling around Tuscany. A not to miss it place!

Room Tip: There are luxury rooms at the villa, but regular rooms are also fine

We spent one night at this hotel whilst travelling through Tuscany. It has the feel of a business hotel more than a tourist hotel but was reasonably located just on the city limits of Pistoia. The directions to the hotel from the motorway were perfect but it was a little harder to find again after an evening in the city because of the one-way system. The grounds of the hotel are nicely maintained, good views of the countryside. The rooms are pleasantly decorated if a bit on the small side, with nice balconies and the bathroom spotlessly clean. The staff were very pleasant and English speaking, they sorted out a glitch on check-in with efficiency and good-humour. The breakfast buffet selection was extensive and well presented and included in the room-rate which was fantastic value at Eur 80 per night. Excellent hotel for our purpose but not sure I would recommend for a weeks holiday as slightly too far to walk into town, swimming pool not open until 10am - which is mid-day by our standards of early rising - no great choice of TV channels in English but free WI-FI enabling us to catch up on news.

We stayed at this lovely for a mid week getaway from the Italian Alps. Everything about our stay was excellent. The villa is in a lovely setting with views over nurseries and Pistoia. The location is convenient to find and directions provided were correct to the front door.
Our room was pleasant with enough room. Dinner on premises one evening was fine and featured Tuscan favorites. The wait staff was quite friendly and we compared some piccolo mondo tales. The grounds are attractive and well kept.
The best thing to mention about this hotel is the front desk staff. The young ladies were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and professional beyond expectation. I recently stayed in a five star hotel in Venice where the front desk staff was terrible. That hotel should send their staff here for training.

I enjoyed a week's stay in this lovely hotel while on a group tour of Tuscany. My room was large and comfortable with all the modern amenities including free WiFi. Every room had a balcony and I enjoyed stepping out to listen to the songs of birds in the morning. The view of the Tuscan hills was a real treat and a wonderful way to begin the day. We ate breakfast at the very extensive buffet in the main building and dinner as a group in the detached restaurant. The food was marvelous and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and everyone was heilpful.
I would love to visit Tuscany again and the Villa Cappugi would be my hotel of choice.

Room Tip: The best views are from the third or fourth floors.

This is our fourth stay here in less than a year as we come to the area for business. We are always made to feel welcome, the rooms are spotless, bathroom spotless and the food is well priced and delicious. We always feel relaxed after a night here, cannot fault the hotel in any way.. staff are polite and friendly, free parking and a great breakfast.

Hotel Villa Cappugi in Pistoia is a Congress Hotel which lies in the suburban area. It is one hours’ drive from Florence. A car is essential for reaching the hotel.
The hotel is well maintained with a beautiful garden. Free secure parking is available. We booked a double room, which was considerably smaller than indicated on the website, corresponding to a single room. There was not even space for as desk. The ridiculously small chair was probably more for decoration or to be used as cloth hanger then for sitting. At arrival the windows were wide open and the room full of mosquitoes. After seeing the manager on duty, we were offered a junior suite. The room was nicely decorated. The bed comfortable, the bathroom generously equipped with free high quality toiletries. WiFi connection was slow. The breakfast is plentiful for italian standards, served in the main house.
The so called gourmet restaurant is situated in the annex. It is without atmosphere, making a sober impression. The menu is rather modest in choice but expensive. We found a trattoria, situated in 400 meters walking distance from the hotel near the roundabout. The restaurant seems to be popular with local guests. Traditional, tasty food is served at fair prices.
Our stay was satisfactory as we were offered a larger room, otherwise taken into consideration the room size for the price paid, the location and the expensive restaurant; our stay would have been a flop. Therefore I would give this hotel limited recommendation

Room Tip: Check your room, some are really cramped
