“Best of Show”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2013

Quite simply put, the two best dining experiences of our 17 day trip through Puglia and Sicily. Yes, we enjoyed two meals at Michelin One Stars, and one could argue they were more of a gourmet experience, but the sheer pleasure of eating at Eden outdid them all. Perhaps it was the modest beachside setting, but we were absolutely blown away by the succulent and robust tastes originating in Rocco's kitchen and grill. We arrived for Sunday lunch, and were initially disappointed that the only two tables provided umbrella shade on the outdoor terrace were occupied, so we chose to eat inside. But, welcome to the family! Katia, Rocco, son Albert, and at least one aunt were very much involved in the production of our meal. Regrettably, the lack of fresh fish eliminated some choices...but aren't you impressed that they choose to eliminate offerings, rather than sacrifice quality? So we had four really good meals, replete with three pastas..shrimp and funghi topping the choices....succulent grilled shrimp as a secondi, as well as a frutti di mare and pasta that was the Best. The house wines were better than adequate and very reasonably priced. Desserts were two cassatas and a fresh berry bowl, followed by a chilled, home-made black cherry liqueur. If this had been our only meal at Eden, we would have felt we had a very good seafood-based luncheon, which would merit a very good grade.
Luckily, our Monday evening dinner ran afoul of a closure, so without having planned an alternative, we headed back to Eden. Somebody was looking out for us and knew we deserved a special treat. It was just a bit too cool to sit outside, but we were able to enjoy the sunset from OUR tavola, which Katia insisted on positioning for the last flickers of the sunset. Then on to the menu...but tonight everything was fresh and available. The wonderful primi and pastas (especially frutti di mare) were almost forgotten when the grilled secondis arrived. The mixed plate with giant gamberoni, octopus, smaller shrimp, two fish and some cuttlefish was beyond succulent! A plate of grilled cuttlefish was perfectly moist and yet charred; and the grilled gamberoni alone was the most delectable combo of olive oil, garlic and lemon of the trip. Grilled fresh veggies perfectly complemented the mains. A couple of desserts and then straight to the amarena liqueur, again.
The ambiance at Eden can only get better as the summer season progresses. But you will not get a better opportunity to savour seafood as it is prepared by Rocco at Eden, regardless of the time of year. You willbe shocked that such a modest venture can produce such an overwhelming culinary experience. An absolute must visit.

“Excellent seafood”

A basic beach restaurant serving excellent sea food at reasonable prices. Would recommend the smoked tuna and shortfish starers.

“Relaxing vibe on the harbour shore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2012

Went to the Eden 3 or 4 times and each time found superb quality and relaxed but efficient service. Menu simple but hit the spot each time, whether just a snack or a full meal. Best of all was the antipasti of carpaccio of smoked tuna that outdid the same course in several other, more formal restaurants. Great place to watch the sunset over the harbour and to see the lights come on in the old town on the hill.
