“Best Food Ever, Great Wine and Beautiful Location”
Reviewed July 5, 2013

Francesco is a wonderful host. The food is amazing. The entire staff was able to accomodate us despite our lack of Italian. If possible, stay for at least three days and enjoy the dinners as they are several small courses that change daily and surprise and delight each time. The pool is refreshing and the town quite cute.

Room Tip: no spa or fitness but close to beach

We stayed at La Chiusa Delle More with two friends for five nights having found the property on the Internet and it having good reviews.
The location is a short distance from Peschici with superb views over olive groves to the town. It is also a short 10 minute walk to the beach.
Some rooms are located in a separate block around a small courtyard, others are around the main building. We asked for a ground floor room as steps can be a problem. We were duly given a ground floor room, however there were over 40 steps up to the terrace where meals were taken, and over 30 up to the swimming pool terrace - be warned if steps are a problem (no lift).
Having said that, the room was well maintained and decorated, with a comfortable bed.
The food was a particular bonus with excellent breakfasts. Evening meals were offered which alternated between vegetable/meat and fish. We chose to eat in on four occasions and the meals were banquets. In reality it was five courses including water, coffee and liquor (only wine excluded but available to purchase) for the all-in price of 30 euros per person.
I had been hoping to walk around the grounds but other than the access road it was not possible which was a shame although the road passed the hotel was a pleasant stroll.
A lovely place to stay which we recommend subject to the points mentioned.

Lovely rooms; Francesco and Antonella are marvellous hosts, and Antonella's cooking at dinner is simply terrific. My wife and I stayed here for a week and it was very restful. We think La Chiusa delle More is one of the nicest places we have stayed.

We needed help to find the entrance, once inside the gates be prepared to climb lots of stairs! Our room (less expensive) was small but had a lovely private patio (and perfect for drying laundry on the rack we found in our room.) Breakfast was delicous and featured the biggest cappuccinos we've ever had. Our host's suggestions for beaches and other sights were excellent, and his enthusiasm and knowledge of the region is terrific.

You can walk to a local beach from the hotel, the route is down an alley, past some apartments, a canal with standing water and some campgrounds. The neighbors just uphill do a lot of hollering, which appears to be typical of lots of neighborhoods in this part of Italy. Not to worry, we never heard them once we were inside our room.

Our first night we headed uphill towards the center of town and had some excellent pizza at the first restaurant we encountered. The next night we ate at La Chiusa and liked it so much we ate there again. The food is excellent, the menu is fixed price (for four courses), the local wine is very tasty (ask the waiter for advice,) and the servings are tourist-appetite friendly. Although dinner is not served until 8:15 PM, the courses move right along and (if you are tired) you can be back in your room by 10:30. If you like Grappa, there is an excellent local variety available.

Very friendly and service minded staff/owner. The place is in very good conditon and clean. Nice views. The food is fantastic and genuine. Rooms is nothing special but it worked fine for our family of four.

Dinner where long for the children..but the staff and other guests tried their best to entertain them. There's no place like Italy for children!

There are nice beaches and you will get recommendations on where to go..picture is from the nearest beach where you can walk.

We stayed here for six nights and can't wait to return. Amazing dinners, 5 courses but light! And also a great wine list of local wines with Francesco, a warm and helpful host. The rooms are simple, but comfortable, welcoming and spotless. A great place to base yourself while exploring the Gargano. We found it excellent value.

Having just stayed at this wonderful b&b I find it worthy of my first ever tripadvisor review. The road leading upto the location is quite random but once inside you see you are locate in a small part of italian paradise. Francesco welcomed us with a drink and plenty of information on the area before taking us to our room. It was just a room but all the facilities you need. Large black out shutters as well as a lovely shower. We stayed in room 8 which has its own private mini pool lovely to sit in the morning sun. You can hear your neighbours but not so much it disturbs you. The food is simply divine and a must to eat dinner in on nights. Don't eat too much during the day though! Having looked at previous reviews saying there is no view I couldn't disagree more. The views of the rolling hills of the region are beautiful and picturesque. Our rooms were serviced daily and whilst sitting by the pool Francesco brought us strudel to try. The whole experience was lovely and I will happily return and hope to in the future. Don't look any further for a place to stay. Just wonderful
