This is not really a five, but really a 4 star hotel. The room was slightly old fashioned, but clean and nice enough. The grounds with cool designer chairs and a large pool are a big plus. The beach is close, but you not much else in terms of restaurants and bars. Breakfast is okay, but not much more.

Friendly Staff especially in the dining area. A tip: don't drink the coffee from the machine but ask the Waiter for a real Espresso or Cappuccino, they will be happy to fulfill your wish. The hotel room is clean and we have nice sea view with big balcony. The beach area is just about 100 meters away. The downside with this hotel is the noise at night time. Almost everyday there's a wedding and the party afterwards last after midnight. A peaceful night sleep is quite impossible if you are a light sleeper.

Family of 4 (2 kids 3 years old and 9 months) our experience here was terrible, let me describe why:

Reservation: we booked a room for 3 people with sea view, when we arrived they gave us a room at the first floor saying that it was better for us as it is slightly bigger and the baby cot will fit much better, the only problem it was a smoker room and no sea view. After we complaint they gave us the room next door.

Location: the booking.com says that the hotel is 800 mts from the ruins, lies! I took my gps watch to measure the distance as we walked from there to the entrance (neptune restaurant). the actual reading was 2.5 km. small difference

Rooms: if we were in the 70's the decoration would be excellent, unfortunately we are in 2014, we can clearly see that management has not made any change since the hotel was built. Our room had the mattress falling a part and had the impression that it was a water mattress.

Sleep quality: None, we could clearly hear our neighbour snoring, the wall were so thin that we could hear when the guy was doing apnea lapses.

Swimming pool: it was closed because during the week-end that we stayed on ALL days were weddings. why do I need to pay the price for other people mistakes? ;-)

Breakfast: they provide the minimal legal requirement to be considered as breakfast, the cappuccino is good though.

Beach: zero transparency in the beach fee. do not pay the beach fee, as the access is free, this fee is hidden charge for the chairs.

Room Tip: the term 5 stars is meaningless for this hotel.

Very good price for 5 star hotel! Nice pool, 2 minutes from the beach. Close to touristic places like Paestum, Pompei or the beautiful Palinura...
The area is calm and pretty cheap.. Lots of Italians doing their holidays in that part.

It's not even 3* hotel! They work only for weddings. Breakfasts are terrible, staff is lazy, rooms are old. If you want to sleep at night don't stay here!! Restraunts work only for weddings, and there are no restrounts and places to go out in this area.

Though not the tourist destination about which most Americans would even be aware, Paestum is one of the finest Greek Archeological sites in Italy. And since the ruins are on the Cilento coast which is much less famous than the Amalphi Coast, the area is much more quiet and relaxing. And in the midst of this, just a short walk from the beach and ruins is Mec Paestum, a boutique hotel with an amazing amount of event space and an incredible pool area. The high level of finishes, high-end design, and designer furnishings in all the public spaces were quite unexpected this far away from a major urban area. At every turn the staff was gracious and accommodating. Dinner in the restaurant, was as unique and fresh as any ever enjoyed in Italy, with fresh caught fish, local produce and butters, and local wines, all contributing to the special sense of place.
The Pool and surrounding areas were particularly incredible at night with amazing lighting features. WIth only 54 rooms, this is not your major tour bus hotel, and that's just fine, as you don't feel overrun with people. The top floor suites have all been furnished at a high end level matching the style of the public spaces. Other floors feature spacious rooms that are in need of updated style in beds and linens to match the style of top floor suites. The large marble baths are appreciated, but not having a shower curtain or glass partition in the tub shower made showering awkward. Better and warmer lighting would be appreciated in the bathrooms, as well as some great art in both bath and bedroom, to help the regular rooms match the rest of the hotel in style. Spacious closets and large balcony was a plus. The numerous beautiful function rooms and ballrooms, make this a one of a kind event hotel if planning a large event in this part of Italy.

Room Tip: Make sure to request a room on the Cilento Coast side.

We arrived a day late andit was agoodthing because our transfer was not aware of us and never showed up on the planned date. BA paid for our room etc, because of their lateness.WE paid 270.00 Euros for each transfer in total 540 Euros to and from the hotel, be Aware this hotel is around 100 km south of Naples. The hotel was basically empty except for a few Canadians, the staff speak only italian except for a LOVELY girl who works about 4 days a week and will help with anything. We met our Eropean relatives there and they paid one third the price we paid for a room and two meals aday, half board it is called. The ruins at Paestum are truly magnificint and probably more impressive than anywhere in Europe, You can walk to them in 20 minutes. The problem is that there is nothing else to do there. The food is OK but not a true ITALIAN experience as we have been before . The Hotel is mostly used for big Italian weddings almost every day.The feeling you get is as a second rate client, not that important, it was really irritating as we paid a total of 8500 buck and had FREE airfare !!! Now we know there is no free anything
