“Good things can come in small packages”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

When visiting the Greek archaeological site of Paestum make sure you visit the museum located across the street. It may be small, but it has an excellent selection of artifacts that were originally at the site. It covers from prehistoric times (mezzanine level), to the Greeks (ground level) and on to the Romans (top level). I would recommend that you see the museum first, then go to the site. I think you can get a better understanding of what was there long ago.

“Greek remains in Italy”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

The museum has an excellent selection of the remains found at Paestum. The signs are in English and Italian and it is easy to get a good idea of the life here in Hellenic times.

“Diver's grave”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

The museum next to the remains of Paestum is interesting.
It mostly consists of grave goods from the Greek age, and they are incredible. It seems rich people had the insides of their graves decorated, and the best example is of a diver taking the plunge from this world to the next.

About half of the exhibits are labelled in Italian only, so if you can't read it, it might be worth buying a guide.
