During our stay in Orvieto we had dinner twice at La Palma but we would have dined more often but for our travels around the area. If you are going to eat at la Palma I would suggest that you miss lunch (and possibly breakfast!). The portions can be huge and you would need to be hungry to make best advantage. The antipasti served to share between two would have fed 2 more. The quantity does not detract from the quality and i can honestly say that I have never tasted better basic cooking than that served here. The food is simple (in the best way) straightforward cooking without frills but maximising on taste. Value for money is unbelievable and I simply cannot understand why the place was not full of hungry tourists when we were there. I can only assume that it's location at the entrance to the village meant that most people simply overlooked it, as it is on the fringes of the evening activities. Senore & Senora Luciano who own the restaurant are delightful and generous with their time and their talents.
I am looking forward to my next visit to Orvieto when we will certainly be revisiting La Palma and enjoying not only the great food but excellent wines
