“Interesting engineering, pricy”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

It is hard to imagine them building this. It must have taken enormous effort to carve this into the ground. It is a unique structure. Having said that, we did not think it was worth the cost of the visit when you can enter magnificent cathedrals for the same price. If you have time to kill, I would visit but there are better things to do.

“OK”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

The well is interesting, but may not be worth the 3 Euro or so entrance fee. The construction is fascinating. We walked down a few steps, looked down into the well, got the idea, and walked out.

“Amazing architecture and a good workout!”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

This is a very cool attraction, especially for kids. Ours had a blast running down and up the 248 steps in each direction! The architecture is very impressive and beautiful. Note that this is not for people that have trouble walking. The only thing is that it's a little pricey and should be cheaper (currently 5 Euros for an adult). It is very close to the Funicular.

“Our St. Patrick's Day trip”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

It might be corny, but my husband and I thought it would be a great idea to visit the well on St. Patrick's Day. Of course, that is not an Italian holiday so no event was planned around the well. Yet, the experience was fun. The staircases up and down the well were very easy to climb. If you have slight mobility problems, you will be alright. If you have chronic knee issues, avoid this sight and simply take a look down the well. The well is near the funicular so stop and enjoy. Then take the free shuttle to the city center.

“Amazing & mind boggling design”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

St. Patrick's Well is a masterpiece in architecture. The design of the well is amazing and mind boggling. It's a challenge to imagine How it was built so perfectly, so many centuries ago... A truly historic marvel.
