We knew we'd have almost 500 steps (in total down/up), and like that...so it was worth it. My husband listened to the 1Euro audio and said it was interesting. Gets a bit chilly as you get low, but you'll huff and puff a bit on the way up to warm up!

Although there isn't any informative aspect to go along with this site, I still really liked it. The well is a bit of an engineering marvel - it's so big it has separate paths up and down for donkeys to travel to carry the water back to the ground level. The whole site is you walking those paths. There's nothing to read to tell you about the well's history, so you might want to bring a guidebook with you for that. However, it's cool to see the well at the bottom - I got some really amazing photos.

An astonishing double-helix, and also quite a hike UP after you've gone to the bottom, so it's not for the faint of heart or anyone who is claustrophobic.

This is a most interesting site. The numerous steps are easy to negotiate and because one does not meet others going in the opposite direction, is hassle-free. It is so cool down below - a perfect spot for escaping the heat of the town above.

St Patrick's well is a great bit of engineering. Double helix system of stairs up and down preventing traffic jams. A bit rough on the knees, and nothing else to see but a good way to pay homage to the genius of design. (Not for those with limitations)
