ideal location in this beautiful hill top town, the family room was great , the though friendly, were not engaging, but their dinner and sightseeing recommendations were on the money! and speaking of money we thought this was a very good value for our family of four two kids aged 12,10, room was big and clean with a big bathroom , a great town worth a night or two!

Room Tip: great value for families!

In many European areas, it can be very difficult to find a hotel room that can accommodate a couple and 2 children. The suggestion is usually to book 2 rooms yet that is not only more expensive but it is rare that the rooms are adjoining and having 2 rooms in 2 different locations makes packing and sharing common items like toothpaste very tricky. When you do find a quad room, they can be teeny tiny and cramped. Not so at the Hotel Duomo. Our corner room was enormous, we had a king size bed and two twins and PLENTY of floor room. I worried that the hotel would be noisy (being right next to the church chimes) and our room near the small elevator and stairway, but we never heard the chimes or the stairs/elevator.

The breakfast included a wide variety of cereal, pastries, ham, cheeses, yogurt, and fruit. I booked this hotel room through booking.com and breakfast was included. Again, this was a great thing for a family--very convenient to have breakfast right in the hotel and the variety appealed to the most picky eaters. Bravo!

Room Tip: If you are looking for a room for 4, ask if there is a room that does not overlook the outdoor patio...

This is the epitome of a great location could not be more central! Orvieto is a really wonderful town very peaceful with an amazing collection of tiny streets into which is packed the most amazing shops selling all manner of bizarre items. The town has the feel of an artisans getaway all the buildings seem to be inches apart and the tiny cobbled streets lead you on a dream like journey. The hotel is spotless, the staff are very friendly and efficient this is a very practical hotel in a location like this its perfect as it can get very hot! You have to visit the chruch amazing ! and Zeppelin Ristoranté

Room Tip: Rent a very small car!

This is a lovely hotel in a quiet location right near the Duomo. The hotel is well maintained and offers a good breakfast. The staff is friendly and helpful. We found it to be a good value for the money.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this very lovely hotel. It is spotlessly clean, decorated with interesting pieces by a local artist, and is located in a perfect spot in this city. We were lucky to be there last year at the same time as the 748 year old Historical Pageant Corpus Domini, which was a treat. The family who runs the hotel are reserved but efficient and will do anything for you. We had trouble negotiating the car in the narrow streets, so Signori (the kind man who seemed to run the hotel) would take the keys and park it for us. When he saw us come for breakfast he arranged to get the car while we ate. Their hotel and their mannerisms were understated but wonderful. I felt totally peaceful here, awaking to the tolling bells, and walking in the shadow of the Duomo.

Room Tip: We had a room with a lovely balcony. Delightful!

Do you plan to go visit Orvieto? Ok, then make your reservations here.

Location, location, location. We had a view of the Duomo from our room. It was really nice. Then again, it's hard to find a bad view in Orvieto anyway. I tried to find this hotel from a Google map search and it didn't work out too well. Thankfully, this place was in an ideal spot. A wine bar is very close and that is really important when you are visiting the Umbria region. Also, the tours of the caves gather in front of the Duomo. The shuttle from the funicular stops in front of the Duomo and that is a short walk to the hotel.

If you go to the left side of the Duomo and go down the short stairs next to the quaint wine bar/ restaurant you will run into the hotel that is on the left. There's another wine bar called Cantina Foresi located amongst the shops. They offer free red and white wine tastings.

The bed was hard or what I call European. I'm American, so I love pillow mattresses. The bed didn't ruin the night or make us lose any sleep. Although, an extra pillow would have been nice.

The bedroom and the bathroom were really large and clean. I was thinking our room would be like the one we giggled about in Rothenburg, Germany. Now that was medieval. This hotel was far from that experience. Also, toiletries are provided.

The staff was really nice, friendly, and helpful.

The breakfast was everything I wanted: Nutella, bread, spreadable cheese, bread, salami, and bread. They served more but I only focused on what I wanted to eat.

There are other places to stay in Orvieto but I like to be close to everything.

Room Tip: This hotel is really inexpensive during the low tourist season. Do not pick this room if you do not...

The hotel is well placed, the staff is friendly and the breakfast is good, the coffee is good and the rooms are nice. I know you don't find soft beds in Italy but the beds at this hotel are almost like wood.
