“Absolutely Lovely”

The rooms are charming and clean, quiet , and nice bathrooms. Best rooms: top floor left and right. Very dreamy rooms flooded with light and superb views. Suite on 2nd floor is large and elegant with nice stone fireplace. We stayed in summer and it was cool without being overly air conditioned and chlled. Breakfast was great. Giulia was gentle, accomodating and helpful. Great location near Duomo and cafes, yet absolutely quiet. Overall, nice moderne, medieval stone feel.

Had a delightful 5-day stay here. Orvieto is a lovely town, but what really made it for me was the attentive hostess, who would stop at nothing to make her guests` visits optimal. Giulia is a sweet, soft-spoken woman, but this belies her efficiency in arranging transportation and information of all sorts. She asks about her guests` plans or interests while in Orvieto, and gives all sorts of tips and ideas not to be found in guidebooks. Breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit tarts, cake or various croissants, as well as toast, jam, espresso, juices and fruit. My room was immaculately clean and well-equipped. Thanks, Giulia, for all the mothering. I can`t wait to return Sant`Angelo on my next visit.

The rooms are clean and charming, bathrooms well-equipped, the street is quiet and the location is close to the center. Giulia is a gracious and generous hostess with lots of good advice about restaurants and side-trips.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms on the top floor for small balconies and shower.

This B&B is really a "home away from home". It is situated right behind Orvieto's cathedral in a quiet alley with no traffic at all. You are in the heart of Orvieto but without the noises of a city center. The house is beautifully furnished and spotless. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and tasteful with very nice bathrooms. But this is not the only positive thing about this B&B. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming that you really feel at home straight away. This is due to the owner, Giulia, who is a true professional and who makes you feel at home with her warm and open personality. You can see she puts her soul in this place and takes care of every little detail.
I recommend this B&B very strongly. You will not be disappointed.

We spent 3 nights here and were treated very well by the owner, Giulia. She doesn't live on the premises but is there in the morning baking and fixing a lovely breakfast for her guests. the room was lovely with a local view of the city and very comfortable. She was great at giving us information about the local area and making sure we met our train schedule heading up to Cortona. I would definitely stay there again.

We recently visited San't Angelo 42 this July, it was our last day in Italy and what a nice way to end the trip. This B&B is charming, clean, and spacious. Guilia was an excellent hostess, when we informed her that we would be leaving at 5:00 in the morning to catch a flight out of Rome and wouldn't make breakfast, she told us she would prepare a tray for us the night before so that would could at least have a little something for the trip. Very thoughtful and unexpected. She also recommended an excellent local restaurant (Trattoria del Moro Aronne) which was fantastic way to end our Italy trip. Our stay in the Blue Room (top floor) was very nice with vaulted ceilings and a view of the city. I would recommend this reasonably priced, quiet B&B to anyone visiting Orvieto.

Room Tip: Our room on the 3rd floor was quiet and had a nice city view.

We landed in the evening at Rome and had to negotiate train travel to Orvieto (where we were to pick up a rented vehicle). The time that we would arrive in Orvieto was not fully predictable, We could only provide a 'best guess'.. The hostess/owner, Giulia, who lives elsewhere with her young family, told my wife and I that the arrival time would not present a problem and that we should phone when we got to the station and she would meet us at Sant'Angelo 42. After some congenial help by a man who had very limited English, the bus driver, and a man walking his dog, we arrived just past 11 in the evening and just as she said she would be, there was Giulia waiting for us. We were taken to our room on the top floor. Wow what a nice place. Very roomy, spotlessly clean, thoughtfully appointed with a very good bed. On top of that there were two small viewing balconies that overlooked the rooftops and down to the beautifully restored narrow street below. Yes, we had arrived in Italy and we had done it in style! In the morning we were served breakfast in a ground floor kitchen area that was also nicely restored. The breakfast was just fine. As it turns out a typical Italian breakfast with breads and jams, fruit, yogurt and freshly made coffee. The croissants came from a specialty bakery and were tasty. After breakfast Giulia sat with us and provided us with a map and took the time to outline the sites that were deemed to be the important ones to see in Orvieto. As we were picking up the car after three, she let us store our luggage and gave us a key so we could use the lobby and facilities throughout the day. We appreciated her efforts and all she did to make our stay comfortable. The building appears to have been gutted and the restoration work is first class. Everything was done with considerable thought. We liked her and Sant'Angelo 42 so much that we booked there to stay another night and day on our return to Rome and we were not disappointed that we had done so. Everything was just as good the second time as the first.
As to the location, it was in the heart of the hilltop town and all that it has to offer, yet it was exceedingly quiet. Take the funicular up and it is a straight forward walk from there.

Room Tip: The suite at the top floor, although not technically a suite as it is all one room, is very spacious...
