“Yummy spaghetti carbonara”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

This was our first dinner in Italy after having missed a whole night's sleep getting to Orvieto. It was perfect! Family oriented, value, fantastic filling carbonara. Walked around the corner from our great B&B, Ripa Medici.

“Delicious food and prices are more than fair.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

If you are staying in Orvieto make the effort to find this cozy nook off the beaten path, near Piazza Ranieri. We ordered the Carbonerra for dinner and it was so much better than we expected. There were about 10 tables and over half were full with locals. They opened at 7:30 p.m. We did not make a reservation since it was October but have read that it gets very full in summer.

“A Real Local Place – And Great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

No tourists here – just locals. That's rare in Orvieto. Everything about the place – the food, service, wine, oil, bread, atmosphere – was excellent. Skip the tourist places and head for this restaurant. It's at the far end of Orvieto but worth the extra walk. We loved it. There's nothing to complain about. It's what coming to the real Italy is all about.

“One of our best meals in Italy...and well priced too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

Local residents had told us about the famous spaghetti carbonara here so we went to check it out. The servings looked huge so we opted instead for the ravioli and umbrichelle off the fresh pasta page...absolutely delicious. The owner brought a large bowl of fresh parmigiano without us asking which was a nice touch too. Unbelievably, for two primi, two contorni, house wine, bread, water, etc the total was only 28 euros!? You must try this place when you are in Orvieto. Make a reservation as it is a cozy place and fills up fast.
