I highly recommend this gorgeous place, we wish we had been able to stay on longer. The building and gardens are postcard perfect, peaceful and idyllic, and with the hostess Angela's excellent directions, not that hard to find, even late at night at the last minute, which is when we were coming.
Angela was extremely good at making us feel welcome and cosy straight away, and even though it was quite late at night when we arrived, she kindly showed us around, offered us a choice of two rooms, provided us with glasses and plates for an impromptu dinner we put together from grocery items and local wine, on a lovely balcony with fairy lights, looking out over the garden under the stars.
The interior design and landscaping are really beautiful and well thought out, and there are gorgeous little nooks and crannies throughout. The breakfast was also delicious and generous, and at no point did we feel rushed or hurried on our way.
The area of Orvieto is really pretty, but not far from mod cons like petrol and groceries. We used it as a stop off between Rome and Florence, but it really deserved more time. We enjoyed it as a couple, but it would also make a great friends, solo, or family stay.
Our plan now is to win lotto and offer to buy the place! Just gorgeous, can't rate it highly enough. Thanks so much, Angela.More
