“Lost none of its magic!”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Have just returned from a superb weeks stay at this wonderful hotel. It was our second visit and I can honestly say that the Adler Dolomiti in Ortesei was even better this time. My wife and I went with good friends who came based purely upon our recommendation from our previous stay two years ago. They were immensely impressed by the whole experience. The food was exceptional, the hotel staff couldn't have been friendlier or more attentive and the amazing spa area and indoor/outdoor swimming pools have certainly lost none of their sparkle. To swim in the huge outdoor pools, at bath temperature, with the most beautiful backdrop of the snow covered Dolomites is a sensation that will remain in our memories for ever! All in all the Adler Dolomiti is a hotel that has virtually everything you could wish for and thoroughly deserves its 5 star status. Although we were there for a skiing holiday. I am sure it would be equally as nice to be there in the summer and go hiking etc. We can't wait to return!

Stayed at the Adler again this year - what a superb hotel it is. Excellent location; harmonious design; outstanding wellness centre; good value for money. Why then is it losing its magic?

For me, the hotel has become too big and is a destination in itself for many of the guests. It operates now more as a mass-market luxury 'holiday camp'. The original air of exclusivity has been lost somewhere, and the volume of guests, particularly from eastern Europe, who seem to want to pile their plates high with food and lounge around the public areas in bathrobes, have taken something away from the original ambience of the place. It is not as personal as it once was.

That said, the service standard is excellent; the staff are generally very friendly and helpful (though rushed off their feet in the dining rooms); and the amenities second to none. The food is plentiful, though I felt that it has become bland through the sheer volume of meals served each evening. There are options to dine in the Balance restaurant, accessible through a tunnel from the wellness area, which exudes a much more refined and exclusive atmosphere. We dined here several times during our stay, and it was much nicer in my opinion.

Maybe its time for us to sample some other, more intimate hotels on next year's trip.

We had a wonderful week at the Adler Hotel in Ortisei. the Service is exceptional. The location is perfect in the center of the beautiful town of Ortisei. The ski guide 'Leo' is top and made us discover and enjoy the superb ski slopes at the Dolomites. My wife does not ski and really enjoyed the top Spa experience. The food is great at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I recommend it and for sure will return.

I have just got back from a 1 week skiing holiday at the Hotel Adler, The place was stunning with close proximity to the ski lifts. Only out the back gate and onto a series of escalators then onto the Secada lift to take me up, up and into the mountains.
The sumptuous 7 course meals in the evening as well as a lovely hearty breakfast and afternoon tea, a must after a hard days skiing moreover was the surprise of having a ski guide for the week which was 7 Euros a day and he was brilliant showing us the best ski places to ski and of course the hidden route to the the lovely Cortina.
The staff were attentive and considerate, I did ask for a balcony but those were fully booked, the room was ample and at times did get a little warm as I had to open the window to cool the room down however that did not bother me too much because I love the clean, crisp mountain air. It did feel like being on a cruise ship on the mountain with the spa and outdoor salt pool which were quite magical. The snow covered gardens with ambient lighting made it look and feel warm and welcoming. A real treasure of the snow covered village of Ortisei.

Room Tip: Always ask for a balcony.

Have just got back from a 5 day break at the Hotel Adler. We tried desperately to lengthen our stay whilst there, but was fully booked.

Fallen in love with this hotel. Its location was superb, as set back in Ortisei, not near main roads. Its surroundings are stunning. Everything is walking distance.

The hotel itself was just beautiful. Was taken by surprise by the stunning reception with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking the landscape.
Our room was ample, would have been good to have a bit more space or even a single bedroom attached for our daughter. But what we had was lovely with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the gardens covered in snow.
The spa was quite simply the most amazing spa I have ever been to. Plus they had a menu of treatments tailored for expectant mothers, which was fabulous. The most magical part was the outdoor warm salt pool. It had music underwater, atmospheric lighting, and swiming outside surrounded by snow, whilst its snowing...in the dark. Speechless.
The staff were very attentive and made sure we didnt want for anything.
The medical spa was also great. My husband had finally got a diagnosis for something the UK doctors have been unable to solve.
The staff in all aspects of the hotel were very welcoming and attentive. My husband needed to see a gp on arrival and it was all sorted out within the hour.
Our daughter loved kids club, she enjoyed all the activities, the staff looked after her so well, and encouraged her independance.

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. Quite simply, we cant wait to go back.
Thank you for the most amazing holiday.

We fell in love with the Adler Hotel 13-years-ago and have been every yea since. You can't fault it to be honest. the situation is amazing - in a beautiful Tyrolean valley with mountains all around you, an amazing spa with outdoor pools and whirlpools, fantastic food and attentive staff.

Room Tip: If you can afford the superior rooms they have balconies facing the mountains and are worth the extr...

We stayed in the hotel for four nights and every day we were amazed again about the quality of the hotel and the food, and friendliness of the staff. Everything was just perfect. The location is central and close to the chair- and cabinlifts. The area is perfect for walking and mountainbiking in the summer!
