My mum and me visited this cute little cafe half an hour before close on a Monday night -the worst customers, in our defence the place is a little hard to find if you don't know where to look, and the address reported here on TripAdvisor is slightly wrong.
Despite this, the owner welcomed us warmly, and rushed to rustle something up for us and talk us through what we were about to be served.
He returned a few minutes late with the biggest charcuterie and cheese board I've ever laid eyes upon, warm bread, cooked vegetables, and some cubes of courgette frittata we later learned was made with courgettes from his dad's allotment and eggs from his aunt's farm.
The charcuterie and cheeses were all typical of the Maremma region of Tuscany, and were all absolutely delicious, and it was a pleasure to chat to the owner about the provenance of the food we were being served.
Our dinner was accompanied by two cold glasses of refreshing Prosecco, which hit the spot just right on a warm summer night.
As the place had no formal menu, we were incredibly surprised to learn the grand total for our foodie evening amounted to 23 euros!
Never in my life I've experienced such a high level of cuisine, wine and hospitality for that little money.
If you're ever in the area please give this place a visit, it deserves its TripAdvisor popularity and you'll learn something new!

Travelling back to Rome from Tuscany, stopped for a lunch break and we were greeted by the owner. Said he wanted to educate us as travellers in Italian cuisine. 'Eating and drinking'. Had cold cuts, apperitifs, pasta with beautiful sauce. Lovely wine and a main with lovely organic veg. Got to try some dessert with a dessert wine and of course finished with coffee. A real treat from a wonderful guy.

After some minutes of searching we found the place somewhere we did not expect it to be. We asked for a table for 2, however the owner told us it was not a tipical restaurant (more for lunch and getting a apperatif) and if we really wanted a diner he suggested some other places. He told us that he liked it that we found the place so he offered us a diner special for us with all kinds of food en wine tasting. Both the food and the wine was amazing, simple and pure! The owner was really kind, taking the time for us while it was busy with locals eating and drinking their apperatifs. We were really glad we stayed for our special diner and went home with a few bottles of wine!

We showed up at this restaurant at 245pm. We asked if it was too late for lunch and Daniele immediately replied, "It's never too late to eat!" So began our adventure. We let him chose our menu and the pasta with asparagus sauce was the best pasta we had had in our 5 days in Italy so far. Everything is made from fresh local produce.
Daniele is very passionate about the food and wine he serves. He explained about the wine we drank and the food we ate; even my hot chocolate! We were there for 2 hours, enjoying the food and his conversation.
The First and Second servings were 7 euros each. After that, we have no idea as Daniele gave us a sampling of several different vegetable dishes and then a sampling of local cheeses and meats. The meal ended with my hot chocolate and some cake and fresh strawberries. (Our total came to 81 euros, including the bottle of wine and cheese we bought.)
Thank you, Daniele for a memorable afternoon!
