Description: Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. For generations visitors and local residents have been able to enjoi a glorious view of of the Valdichiana from the balcony. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... In 1992 the Caffè was lovingly restored to its former glory. Federico Fellini, who visited the "Poliziano" soon after, considered the atmosphere and style to be worthy of a great Central European city such as Vienna or Prague.

“Very good food and service”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

We have been at Caffe Poliziano during our August vacations in La Toscana. We were looking for typical local food and found a good option at this resturant. Out of its outstanding view, food was excellent and service very professional and friendly.

“One of Italy's historic cafes”
Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

If you are on one of those beautiful road trips to Tuscany, and you decide to spend a couple of hours in Montepulciano then you shouldn't miss this historic cafe that opened its doors back in 1868. When I entered, it was like stepping into a different epoch, it's large, elegant, classy, with antique-style furniture. Good caffè and lovely, inviting desserts. If you are lucky to go there on a warm, sunny day, sit at the balcony and enjoy the panoramic view of the picturesque Valdichiana valley. This cafe was a favorite place for many of Italian intellectuals, nobles, artists, film directors (including Federico Fellini)... Don't miss it!

“Stunning views and yummy food!”

We had a wonderful lunch at this restaurant but the real star of the show is the view! Sit on the balcony if you can.

“Beautiful Vuiews and Quite Expensive Drinks”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

We tried to find a place with a view to get a drink and stumbled upon this place. The decor was fancy and looked like a 20s bar/restaurant. There is a terrace with a spectacular that only has chairs. We ordered a refreshing shot of Limoncello and were surprised that it was 4.50 euro (approx. 6 USD). There is also a pastry bar towards the front and after we enjoyed the view and our expensive drink we ordered some sweets to go.

“Glorious Views”
Reviewed August 11, 2013

We stumbled upon this charming café during our day in Montepulciano. I am so glad we did! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, but what is truly stunning is the view. If you are willing to sit side by side, sit out on the balcony for your meal. Tuscany is the land of billion dollar views, but this one is tough to beat.
Oh, and by the way, the food was very good. I enjoyed the caprese salad, and the day's special risotto which was yummy. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meal, and our stop in this beautiful café.
