“Can’t be beat for the price!”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Yes, this hotel is located a 5-10 minute drive from Montepulciano, so you need to have a car for this place to be worth it. But assuming you do your homework and know that – this place is an absolute steal for the summer in Italy. Clean room with some modern furnishings, plus a nice terrace at least in our room, fast Wi-Fi, free parking, a good breakfast, friendly staff. Our stay would have probably been quiet as can be had it not been for a bikers and wine soiree a few blocks away…apparently bikers like wine AND heavy metal music? Anyway, not the hotel’s fault. There was nothing to complain about during our stay – I would certainly return.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 120, which had a lovely terrace providing great sunlight.

I Due Cigni May 20

From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. We arrived at noon and was able to check in. Matteo was very up beat and friendly. He gave us a suggestion as to where to tour in the afternoon and provided a good restaurant to eat that night.

The hotel was very easy to find just off the Main Street heading into Montepulciano. The rooms are very modern in decor and well laid out with beautiful french doors onto a balcony where we enjoyed a bottle of wine that evening. A small fridge was also provided. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were white and crisp. The only drawback was that the pillows were rock hard and flat. We would have preferred two more pillows however this was a small inconvenience.

I am a stickler for cleanliness and this room did not disappoint. The bathroom was beautiful with modern amenities. It had a raised sink, walk in shower with a rain shower head, a wall mounted hair dryer and a bidet. The towels were white and fluffy. Did I say clean? We had free Internet service in the room which was fast and reliable.

The breakfast was delicious with freshly made to order coffee. There was cereal, yogurt, juices, assorted meats and cheeses, breads and pastries and fruit.

The location is central to discover the beauty of the area. We rate this stay as excellent and would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the west have a view of the hills however rooms on the west have warm sunshine on the balco...

We stayed 4 nights at I Due Cigni and were very impressed especially by the nice staff and the excellent breakfast. The hotel is family run and it was a pleasure to stay there because the mother and her 2 sons are really really nice and friendly. They also provided us with a lot of information on things to do in the area. They served delicious home-made cakes for breakfast. The room itself was large and very clean.

We had 1 night at this B&B. The owner and son were very helpful and suggested places to visit and to eat.
We had a lovely room.
When we arrived we asked for tea/coffee - as we were asked to take a sit in the sitting area whilst the drinks we made.
Breakfast was scrummy.
The son speaks good english and recommended that we visit a local town - for the views. We did - and he was absolutely correct.
We drove into Montepulchiano to walk around and eat.

Came across this hotel by chance while traveling by car around Montepulciano. Pleased with everything! Excellent staff, I want to note especially Matteo, which first talked on the phone, and then, on arrival, and in person! All told, was very friendly! Yes, and other staff, including, as I understand it, the hosts were welcoming and sweet!
The rooms are large and clean, a lift, a mini-bar, shower, free wi-fi in the rooms and in the lobby, breakfast, free parking, a small, one by one. The keys to the car, I gave Matteo, in case someone would leave before me.
Arrived late - dining - restaurant 100 meters away. They are fed well and inexpensively! Wine is delicious! And the silence! And fresh air!
General. most enjoyable, I will be again in these parts - just stop here!

We stayed at hotel Due Cigni two nights visting Montepulciano and we realized that the hotel is approx. 7-8 km far away from Montepulciano, located in a small village called San Alpino or something like that....This village sounds like the poor suburb of Montepulciano without any kind of interesting shops and possibility to have a walk on the typical tuscan setting. The highlight of this village is a private spa for old people and kids needing healt rehabilitation....nothing related to wellness.
The hotel is clean and rooms are godd but nothing special more similar to a city/business hotel....

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for just over a week and had an amazing time! Very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome. We were given lots of recommendations and nothing was too much trouble. The room was a nice size and very clean.
The nearby pool was amazing and the local area is beautiful. There's not very much to do in the town so you will need a car, the pizza restaurant around the corner is fantastic and has a really cool outside dining area.
