“Worth the stop just for the wine tasting”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

We had a dinner in the oven in our apartment so just went down for some bar snacks and wine tasting one early evening. The owner was apologetic that he did not have all of his tasting stations open (it was off season) but regardless we found a couple of dozen options. Great venue for finding local wines to either take with enjoy during your stay. Plus, if you are on a budget, a terrific way to taste some expensive choices without breaking the bank. Be sure to go downstairs into some of the caves.

“Food, Wine, Service, Atmosphere, Price - All Excellent”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

My family of five (three small kids) dined here for dinner during the food/wine festival in Montepulciano. The place is really neat, with several caves and staircases inside. The atmosphere is fantastic for a dinner with friends, family or a night out with your spouse.

The menu is diverse and includes numerous local specialties. The special local pork, local wines, local olive oil and everything else was excellent.

The prices were reasonable for Italy, less than €100 for all five us, including wine, desserts, appetiziers and 5 entrees.

One of our favorite meals in Italy.Highly recommend.

“Wonderful ... but”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

Now let's be honest. When in Italy, and especially Tuscany, it is nearly impossible to have a bad meal, or even a so-so meal. The norm here is so superior to other countries that one needs to extend the review beyond just the taste of the meal to differentiate one restaurant from another. The quality of our meal here was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant though somewhat noisy. The wait staff was professional and reasonably friendly but not as pleasant as we had experienced in other places. My one disappointment was the menu selections. There was everything you would expect, but nothing more. The menu had no uniquely creative dish to challenge you that is so often found elsewhere. The onions roasted in vinegar were a clear treat but that was it for originality. So our recommendation is go for the excellent food but don't expect an "oh wow" experience.

“Authentic Tuscan Food”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

We happened upon La Bottega by accident on a rainy day. Although, the restaurant was very busy they quickly set up a table for our party of eight. We had a variety of dishes in which the pork dish was exceptional. The homemade pasta "pici" with the tomato sauce was delicious and the serving was generous although I managed to eat it all by myself. We asked for the casa vino Rossa and it was very good. The dining areas are old brick caverns which give a nice ambience.

“Best wine tasting and best food”
Reviewed October 27, 2013

La Bottega del Nobile was the best wine tasting we did in Tuscany - it has more than 60 wines for tasting, for the same price they are sold in the store. Paolo, the owner, does a wonderful job. Not just because he knows all about wines, but also because he is extremely receptive and competent. We went there to have a wine tasting and we ended having dinner the best dinner in Tuscany. For dinner don't miss the Picci pasta and the filet of Chianina. We loved it so much that we came back the next day.
