Our standard room on an upper floor had a marvelous view over the rooftops of the old city and the Tuscan countryside. Ivanna made sure the guests were well taken care of, presiding over the excellent breakfasts. We were there only two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel is a jewel for service, location, ambience and value.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

Meuble il Riccio is a beautifully preserved building lovingly cared for by Gio and Ivanna where we stayed for one week. We found their directions to parking lot were spot on and only a short walk away which was easy with rolling luggage. Our room was exceptionally clean and the bed extremely comfortable. We frequently used the sun room to read or have a drink. The tarts made by Ivanna for breakfast were tasty and the Cappuccino some of the best we had. The location was great for walking all over this town and to use as a base for day trips. Gio gave us good advice on local wineries to visit and directions to get to Sienna, Orvietto, Pienza, and Montalcino. He also suggested various restaurants, all of which we enjoyed.

Room Tip: Regular rooms are a little small, but fine. Ask for a deluxe room if you want a larger space. They...

We just spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel. We had a basic room ( our choice) but the view was "priceless". A wonderful view of the Tuscan countryside. Breakfast was more than ample and very tasty. It is the service that I want to commend the hotel for however. We arrived 5 1/2 hours late, exhausted from more than 24 hours of travelling on planes and driving 3+ hours in torrential rain, at night, did not know where we were going..........you get the picture. When we finally arrived in the town at 10:30 pm we made a phone call to the hotel to ask for directions. The owner Gio told us to stay put and he would come and pick us up, and have us follow to the hotel. After we parked our car and put our luggage in the van, we asked if any restaurants were opened. Since it was nearing 11 pm, he stopped his van and went into a restaurant just a short walk from our hotel and asked them to wait for 15 min for us. Folks this is truly what service is all about. A very warm thank you again to Gio and his wife for their kindness and hospitality!!

Meuble il Riccio has an elegance about it with its spacious, noble lobby, its gracious hostess and host and lovely well appointed rooms. The upper terrace is a perfect spot to relax with a bottle of wine or whatever or possibly a take away pizza or meal. The view is lovely and quiet. I enjoyed our window view overlooking the valley and also being centrally located in such a lovely Tuscan town. Very convenient for finding sights. If driving, I suggest parking outside the old town at the top of the hill and initially walking to Meuble il Riccio to obtain specific directions to their parking spaces before unloading your luggage. We then actually walked to the parking location before bringing the car up to the lot. The extra effort was worth it and the subsequent walk with luggage relatively short and on flat surface. Pay attention to one way streets when exiting the designated parking lot. Staying in the center of the old town in this beautiful historic hotel was worth the effort and I would not hesitate to book it in the future again. The hosting family's warmth and attentiveness is so graciously given. The entire visit was like going back in time in a very classy way.

We stayed 2 nights at the lovely Meuble il Riccio. A perfect location a few steps away from the centre. We had a stunning view from our room with Lake Trasimeno, Castiglione del Lago and Cortona in the distance. Gio and Ivana are extremely welcoming and make you feel at ease in their lovely house. Ivana's cakes are wonderful ! Would recommend this as a great place to stay in Montepulciano.

We were a family of 3 staying at this old noble hotel in the heart of Montepulciano.. It was a little difficult to find, but when we first got there it was all joy! We fell in love with this old style and felt almost like we went back in time.. The rooms were nicely finished and clean - and with a fantastic view of the area! The breakfast was very cute and with "a loving touch.. you really feel the love and the dedication the family put behind with all the work! A great stay and we will come back next year.. Greetings from Norway!

We drove from Venice to Montepulciano for our stay at the Mueble il Riccio. The hotel provides free parking however the streets of Montepulciano are extremely challenging to navigate. We had an awful time finding the parking and finally parked the car on the street to go to the hotel and ask. We spoke to another couple at the hotel that had the same problem parking. The hotel entrance is a bit difficult to find. You enter at street level but need to climb stairs to the second floor. Once we checked into the hotel we received better instructions to find our reserved parking. The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and apologetic for our parking experience. Our hotel room was very nice. The room was spacious with a nice size bathroom. We had a beautiful view of overlooking the valley from our window! The hotel also has a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the valley and of the city. We actually spent one evening on the terrace with a bottle of wine we purchased from a local winery. The views on the terrace were probably better than any restaurant in the city. Overall we had a wonderful experience staying at the Mueble il Riccio. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to stay in Montepulciano.
