“Excellent value, quality, and location”

We enjoyed our stay in the Belguardo apartment in Montepociano, Italy. It is a very roomy, light, clean, and pleasant apartment. The view is wonderful. It would have rated a five except we had trouble with the lock on the outer door that almost locked us out on one occasion. I notified the owner but it was too late to correct it for our stay. We managed by leaving the door to the entry hall of the building open during the day. Our key to the apartment work fine.

Overall the apartment met our expectations and we would use it again. I don't know about the hot weather months as there is no air conditioning but it is arranged high up with cross flow windows were there should be good ventilation.

The sitting room / dining room was large. Lighting at night was dim for reading but manageable. Kitchen was clean and had all the need appliances and utensils.

The weather was cool but the heat work so that was no problem there were three bedrooms but we only used the two with the views. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of room in both.

The baths were very functional. The main bath had a European tub / hand shower arrangement which is typical in Europe so that was ok. The second bath had a shower with a curtain but it was very small. The problem was it was impossible to keep water from getting out on the floor while showering. We managed but with limited towels it was hard to sop up the water.

The self service laundry close by was new and clean. The machines even supplied their own soap. We had clean clothes for the rest of our trip.

“Nice apartment in great location”

The apartment is very charming. The interior looks good and gives off the impression of being well cared for, it is clean, spacious, with good views of the valley, and large bedrooms with comfortable beds. The location just inside the city walls is perfect for exploring Montepulciano, with entrance from the main street, and shops and restaurants right outside. If you don't enjoy your stay here, you probably shouldn't be in Tuscany at all.

“Beautiful and spacious apartment in a glorious Montepulciano!”

The apartment was perfect for our two-week stay. The bedrooms were huge and comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The position of the apartment is perfect, right on the main street of Montepulciano only a couple of steps to bars and restaurants. The views are magnificent and the apartment is light and airy.

We were met by the owner's parents who were very welcoming and gave us some home made jam and their home-produced olive oil (both delicious).

“"Belguardo" great value for money.”

We enjoyed our stay at Belguardo very much, The apartment was spacious and comfortable, with three large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Situated about 50 metres from the Prato city gate on the main thoughfare of Montepulciano, it is very conveniently placed for exploring the town. Restaurants, cafes, banks, shops and buses are all very close, Perhaps best of all is the magnificent view over the fields, vineyards and distant hilltop towns of the Val di Chiana. It was an ideal location from which to make daily trips into Tuscany and Umbria (by car or local buses). Returning to Belguardo each evening felt like coming home.

“Wonderful apartment in town, panoramic views”

We traveled to this area as a group of 5, my wife and I, as well as some of her family. Being within the old town, and close to the city gate made the location quite appealing for towing the luggage from the car. We were quite impressed upon first entry to the apartment, with its high ceilings and traditional floors. All of the rooms were a very comfortable size. Our first views when we opened the shutters on the windows, over the neigbouring clay-tiled rooves to the country side beyond, were just fantastic !

Overall everyone in our group thought it was fantastic to find this accomodation within the medeival town walls, and very much enjoyed staying in this apartment. It was quite a fair value to us. We would love to go back, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment.

Just a note that the apartment is on the 1st floor above the ground floor so up a flight of stairs.

“Great Location and value”

I apologise for not writing this review earlier.I stayed in this apartment for 4 weeks in December 2009 with my 16 year old daughter and extended family. We were in Montepulciano to study Italian at the highly regarded Il Sasso school of language. The apartment was perfectly located in the town only a few minutes to the school on foot. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious with ample room for 4 people. In fact at one stage we had a total of 7 adults and it didn't feel cramped. The bedrooms are very spacious as seen from the photographs and we found the living room quite comfortable. The view from the living room window is just like a picture postcard. It was within a short walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants and transportation to other towns in the area.We explored the Tuscan countryside by bus as we didnot have a car and it was very easy from Montepulciano. The owner of the apartment was very easy to deal with and answered all questions promptly.I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone who is looking to stay somewhere reasonably priced, clean and basic, located in the beautiful medieval town of Montepulciano.
