What a fantastic day we enjoyed at Avignonesi. We did the grounds tour and lunch, which was held outdoors in a greenhouse type setting. The service was attentive and the food was Tuscan, with an adventurous flair. The grounds are great to walk around, have a glass of wine and explore on your own. A tip for those of you who may want to ship back wine, we drive about 15 minutes to Bettolle/Valdichiana and use the MailBoxes Etc., they are fantastic and I believe 12 bottles are Euro120, which is not awful. Highly recommend a visit and a meal here, very relaxing and the setting is quite lovely.

A highlight of our trip to Tuscany was a visit to the Avignonesi Winery outside of Montepulciano. The setting for this winery is just magnificent – on rolling hills surrounded by carefully manicured vineyards and tall cypress trees. The main buildings on the estate were classic Tuscan, and surrounded by beautiful gardens.
We had reservations for a tour, tasting and wine-paired meal. The tour was given in English by our lovely guide, Valentina, and lasted about two hours. One of the most interesting parts of the tour was visiting its experimental vineyard where the grapevines were planted in a circular pattern to determine optimal planting density and wine flavor. The current owner is committed to organic and sustainable farming and her philosophy was evident throughout the operation.
The tour concluded with wine tastings in their showroom. Each one was better than the last – totally enjoyable! Of course, you could purchase the wines and have them shipped.
But then, the best was yet to come with the wine-paired multi-course luncheon served in their “Foresteria” – a beautiful open-aired terrace with a panoramic view overlooking the hills. It was idyllic! The table was beautifully set and the service was charming and effortless. The food was spectacular – seasonal, fresh and flavorful – and the wines totally elevated the experience. Our group had a wonderful time sharing and comparing. It was a memorable visit I would highly recommend.

I visited Avignonesi with my girlfriend and her parents. The view was breathtaking and the facility was the perfect combination of old and new. Our tour guide Laura, was extremely informative and entertaining. The wine is some of the very best in the area, but with all of these wonderful things the staff is the highlight. From the winemaker, to the Chef, to the waiters, everyone is so friendly that it creates a magical atmosphere that is contagious. You will not want to leave.

We had a great lunch and tour! It was a fantabulous experience of Tuscany food and wine! Eur 75 for wine pairing lunch (4 courses + coffee) and tour. Be sure to try to Vin Santo. Special mention to Klajdi who was so passionate about the food and wine and really made our lunch a truly enjoyable one.

Lunch at Avignonesi, on the terrace, overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany is simply devine year after year. However, this year an outstanding waiter made our experience even more etherial. Klajdi Belaj, took us course by course, wine by wine through the Avignonesi portfolio with a clear passion for his work, and the wines of Avignonesi. He was so knowledgable about his wines and so interested in seeing that our lunch was to be remembered as a great one. His service was exceptional and he anticipated our every need as we tasted through the great wines of Avignonesi. The way he poured Vin Santo into our glasses made us want to stop time and keep the moment forever. Thanks to his service, our lunch this past October will forever be one of our greatest.
