We stayed at palazzo carletti for two nights and had a wonderful experience. Our suite had a breathtaking view over the valley, great bathroom with jacuzzi and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was great too. In fact everything was great. Will definately be back!

Palazzo Carletti was our home base in Tuscany for several days. We had a phenomenal trip! Our host was so helpful and welcoming. He set us up with wine tastings and dinner reservations. Gorgeous room with very modern amenities including internet and a gorgeous bath.

Room Tip: Our room faced the main street but it was plenty quiet.

On the main st of Montepulciano is Palazzo Carletti. This privately owned 5 room B&B is not your average accommodation. It is the only place we stayed on our two week vacation that had an actual king sized bed and was not two beds pushed together. Our room faced the main street and had a small balcony, sitting area, satellite TV, Turkish steam room, private bath with tub, 20 ft ceiling complete with fresco and free mini bar. We stayed in the Leopoldo III room. Some of the other rooms did have a view of the countryside. You need to make sure that you let them know when you will arrive as it is on the second floor and you are buzzed in from the street and there is not always someone available during the day. Even though they give you fairly detailed directions if you are driving, having a GPS in your car really helps. They do have an area for parking. Breakfast is the same as it is everywhere in Italy. This is a great location if you are doing for day trips to Sienna or the surrounding towns. Montepulciano is also a nice place to hang out for a couple days as well.

If stairs aren't your favorite the Palazzo Carletti won't be your choice. Other than that aversion there is a lot to enjoy at this property. It is true that the check-in requires some coordination and a relatively accurate communication to Christian is a good first step. He is a very accommodating inn keeper. He helped with the luggage lug and provided a nice array of dinner alternatives. The associated restaurant, Loggee Something was fabulous in an elegant way. We were well taken care of by the staff there too.

Now for the rooms; what a surprise. We had a large living area and bedroom with a fabulous view in the morning of the entire valley as the sun rose over the hills. We could see vineyards and ancient buildings with a small balcony. We awoke to a nice breakfast of cold cuts and pastries. We had coffee in our room at anytime. The other couple we traveled with had an equally nice room with a great Turkish sauna. Our room had a bubble tub for two that could heat the room up but was a little more than an hour's worth of water to fill for a dip. In my mind a little useless but a minor criticism.

We couldn't drive to drop off our luggage so for those with limited mobility this might pose an issue. On our way to the hotel we lost our way but found a number of great local people that gave us spritzers (with alcohol) to get us through the frustration. Of course they didn't speak English and we had to use our cell phone translator to communicate. The older bar owner sort of took a liking to my wife and tried to sweep her off to his establishment. I had to rescue her and we started a four day adventure in a beautiful city with extremely fabulous people and a great location. Strongly recommend the room with a veiw.

Room Tip: Balcony room for the morning view

Wonderful place in a lovely town. The room was incredible and the service very good. The location of Palazza Carletti are excellent for enjoying Multepulciano and Toscana.
Very nice with parking facilities nearby, but remember the driving instructions!

We had a wonderful time at Palazzo Carletti! The hotel is very confortable with spacious and clean rooms and bathroom, sorrounded by a beautiful landscape. Breakfast is excellent. The location is fantastic as you can visit the small towns of central and south Tuscany. The only inconvenience is that there is no elevator so you need to climb two flights of stairs. If you have a big luggage this can be a problem. However, Christian was very kind and helped us to take our luggage up and down.
