“Great wine bar with good wine selection and good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

My wife and I stayed at the Locanda di San Francesco, which is attached to this wine bar/restaurant. The service was exceptional and the ability to taste wines was a plus. The wine flights were fun to try and the caprese salad and fresh ravioli was wonderful. We did not experience any bands or music while we were there, but it looks like a great spot for it. Due to its location near the top of Montepulciano--the view of the sunset and valley below is exceptional. The outside patio is a wonderful place to sip on some great local wines and discuss the day-it can get a little breezy in the evening. I highly recommend this place to view the sunset and enjoy some great food/wine in a relaxed atomosphere.

“Great place for evening drinks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

A short walk from Piazza Grande the west facing terrace offers evening sunshine and sunset views in a quiet piazza. They offer a good choice of wines and interesting menu of local dishes and foods to complement the wine. We liked the divergence from a conventional Italian menu structure in favour of good quality food and ingredients that support wine tasting. The staff are friendly and very welcoming and we have already visited several times during our stay in Montepulciano.

“Gorgeous view and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

The best Caprese salad I've ever had and a beautiful spot to drink wine and enjoy the view from the patio. Staff was very friendly. We arrived a bit late for lunch and the owner was very nice and served us food Asa well as wine.

“Great lunch location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Their menu does not really look like a dinner menu, although it is offered. We ate here for lunch. Great homemade ravioli, nice wines. Location is wonderful, especially in the afternoon as it is on the west side of town.

“Delicious!”

The wine selection was great and also allowed for you to taste different wines. The food was outstanding - some of the best we had in Italy!
