Description: The restaurant Le Logge del Vignola is located in the heart of Montepulciano's old town centre, across from the renowned loggia attributed to "Vignola". There are two elegant, comfortable rooms where, by candlelight, guests can savour dishes from the Tuscan repertoire as well as the restaurant's own distinctive cuisine, accompanied by excellent, local wines. The restaurant is air conditioned. There is a temporary exhibition of art works by Gino Filippeschi. Seasonally available ingredients form the basis of a cuisine that primarily features local products and, taking inspiration from tradition, reimagines them in a way that is adapted to today's tastes. Among the restaurant's offerings: a tasting menu of special cheeses, flambe cuisine and much more... The cellar is stocked with a careful selection of wines from Tuscany and beyond, with the possibility of pairing, even by the glass, suggested by Sommelier Massimo Stella. Owner: Massimo Stella, Executive Chef: Federico La Rocca.

“Intimate, romantic & superb!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013 via mobile

We thoroughly enjoyed our romantic dinner at Le Logge del Vignola! I'll be honest... We had decided to go here after reading a recent review on TA that was less than enthusiastic. Why then would we choose to dine there? The owner emphatically rebuked the poor review without actually dismissing it. He seemed to be genuinely remorseful that a customer didn't enjoy their dining experience, which led me to believe that this restaurant must take great pride in their product. I can happily report that they do and with good reason! The service is impeccable as is the preparation, presentation and quality of the fresh local ingredients!
While Tuscan cuisine isn't generally my favorite regional Italian fare... I really enjoyed the way this restaurant manipulated the local staples: pici pasta (tonight's version featured a duck regu), ribollita, beans, etc.
Ooh... & don't miss the assorted salumi appetizer or the biscotti and Vinsanto dessert!!! (The homemade biscotti has some sort of divine chocolate in it).
The atmosphere is quiet & intimate and the recommended wine was exquisite (or so my wife tells me... I don't partake). We will surely return before this week is over!

“Outstanding food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 15, 2013

Our experience at Le Logge del Vignola was a taste sensation, i enjoyed every single part of the dinning experience. Food was amazing and our waiter so so knowledgeable with local food and wine.
It is a little pricey but worth it for the quality of food and service. This resturant is a food experience..you must try if in Montepulciano.

“Did Not Meet High Culinary Expectations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 6, 2013

This is a lovely little place, although quite an uphill trek back to the main piazza (a good way to work off the meal). Tables are quite close together, but since we went for a late lunch, it wasn’t very busy and we had adequate “space” and could appreciate the coziness.

The service was outstanding and very professional, yet friendly. We all decided to order the rolled and roasted pork belly with mustard on a bed of potato and vegetable purée. The presentation was excellent (as seen in the photo I took), but the actual product was very disappointing. Yes, it was pork belly and yes, we expected fat, but the fattiness overwhelmed the taste of the meat, and it was served luke warm to boot (imagine tepid fat!). The homemade bread helped to offset our disappointment.

Although I noticed rave reviews, I was disappointed that this lunch (not dinner) was so very expensive, considering the poor quality of the main course. We shared an appetizer and a dessert, and had a glass of wine each. The total came to $150.US for 3 people . It was just not good value – had the food been exquisite, we would not be complaining about the cost.

-drink and appetizer € 0, offered to all our guests like the bread that you have appreciated (home made and hot)

“Wonderfully yummy!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

We ate at this restaurant after a local told us it was her favorite and it was a winner. Everything was very good and the waiter was terrific! It is a tiny bit pricey but the atmosphere was nice and cozy too. The meal, wine, desserts and friendly welcoming approach to service made this a very worthwhile stop. Thanks for a great meal.

“Thoroughly Enjoyable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

We recently stayed in Montepulicano and dined at Le Logge both nights. The food included a mix of classical and modern interpretation of local dishes and is very good. The staff were exceptionally friendly and ensured we had a very pleasant experience both nights. If you are not overly knowledgeable on local or Italian wines we suggest allowing the waiter to make a recommendation as the wine list vast.
