Le Caggiole is about ten minutes outside of the old city walls of Montepulciano. The property itself is beautiful and historic. The farmhouse dates back centuries and the current owners' family have held the property since the 1800s. You can clearly see their love for the place. Our only disappointment was that there wasn't enough interest from the other guests to have dinner at the property, made by Ornella and Giacomo. Otherwise, we had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was amazing, so I'm sure dinner would have been as well. Homemade cakes and their own honey were highlights in the morning. We stayed in the "apartment" which was huge for two. We ended up buying groceries in town and making dinner in the kitchen in the apartment, having eaten out every night on the trip. A nice walk in the morning around the farm capped a wonderful stay. Best night's sleep in Italy.

We spent a wonderful 6 nights of our 16 night vacation in Le Caggiole. It was wonderful from start to finish. The rooms were spotless and spacious: filled with Italian antiques form the family. We stayed in the room where Giacomo's mother was born. How's that for family history. The food was very nice. We ate none better in Tuscany. The breakfast every morning of cakes, breads, cereals, fruit, and jams was a real delight. The dinner we had one evening was unbelievable. All homemade, including the pasta, with 5 courses of pure Tuscan artistry. Giacomo's wine has to be tried, it is as good as we had on our trip, and we had some great wine. We Stayed, and dined in a building that was built over 1000 years ago. It has been thoroughly restored to include all of the modern necessities. Giacomo is always close by to suggest a great place to visit, restaurant to try, or wonderful drive. He is the perfect host. Giacomo, if you read this, please tell mama Ornella that we loved the time we were able to spend in her kitchen, it was the highlight of our trip. Thanks for the wonderful place to stay, we felt like we were at home in Tuscany.
Try this B&B if you want a real taste of tuscan living, close to everything that will make your tuscan vacation a dream.

The farm is immersed in a grove of olive/fruit trees and vineyards -- offering breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated. The place is ideally situated to explore Montepulciano (being in walking distance) and the Montalcino area. Siena is a one hour drive away.

Ornella and Giacomo, mother and son, were lovely hosts. Giacomo was always very helpful in assisting us to make the right choices for exploring the surrounding area -- be it the numerous medieval towns, nearby termes, hidden abbeys or where to enjoy authentic Tuscan cuisine.

All in all a very pleasant experience and we will certainly going to spend more time at the Le Caggiole.

Agriturismo le Caggiole is an absolute charming bed and breakfast. The service received from Giacomo & his mother was outstanding. From his perfect GPS coordinates (GPS very recommended in this part of the world) to his mother giving us a warm greeting on arrival, to the fantastic recommendations Giacomo gave to us. Everyday he would ask where we were going and give recommendations on the restaurants and route to drive- so extremely helpful whe you are in a different country. The terrace is very romantic & relaxing to sit at sunset sipping on their family made wine. The wine is organic and the best we have tasted in Italy! We were so pleased to come at the end of the day and Giacomo had already opened the wine to breathe for a few hours. We even took a couple of bottles with us to Rome. The breakfast was always homemade with sweetcakes, fruit filled pies, cereal, yoghurt, juices and coffee. We slept late one morning and they still left the food out for us. So thoughtful.
We stayed in the "Apartment La Massaia" - it was a large 2 room apt. with high ceilings and big windows with beautiful views of Montepulciano. It had a separate dining area with a full kitchen and sofa to relax on, there was even a cute little potbelly stove. We cooked our own homemade pasta from the region- (the kitchen has everything you need to cook). The bed was so comfortable- turned down for us everynight with chocolates. The bathroom was spacious and so impeccably clean with a great shower. Everyday they gave us fresh towels and bathmats. This apartment would be perfect if you are traveling with a child as it has 2 rooms.
The location was perfect- exactly how we had pictured it. Right in the heart of Montepulciano without any hustle or bustle. We took several walks on the grounds amongst the olive trees, vineyards and even the honey bees. We went on many day trips from here- it was so easy to drive to other areas of Tuscany from here.
My husband & I loved talking with Giacomo- he told us alot about the region, culture and his family. Was so personable, not what you get in hotels. My husband is a pilot and travels all around the world and he said he had a fabulous time there and would definitely like to go back. As I - I want to live there!
The least part that I liked was leaving and going to Rome not so peaceful there.
Thank you again Giacomo and to your Mother we had a great time!

My husband and I just spent 4 days at Le Caggiole in Montepulciano in September. The views were great, the service was wonderful and the location could not be beat. Giacomo was very accomodating in picking us up and helpig us find a rental car. He also made great suggestions on places to eat and places to visit. I would defintely reccomend Le Caggiole and plan on going back!!
