This hotel is old, old in style and old in clientele. It was like going back to the 1970’s and needs a make over, although this has been attempted, and obviously on a limited budget. New doors and corridor décor, but the rooms and especially the bathrooms are tired, showers are small, tiling is cracked, so keeping it clean becomes difficult.
Breakfast was poor, orange juice was more like squash and from a machine, bread was old (no good for all those false teeth) and everything was disappointing.
The price however was very reasonable, as Montegrotto Terme is always expensive during the summer.
I have stayed in other hotels that are very nearby and would recommend them rather than the Marconi, but if you are on a lower budget, this hotel has much to offer.
The staff tried very hard, but it was a bit like visiting your Italian granny (in her house), although no evidence of ‘bingo’ in the evenings, but I didn’t exactly go looking for it.
Internet is non-existent, but I'd imagine most of the elderly Italian clientele aren't too fussed.at that.More
