My husband and I recently traveled to Italy. We wanted to visit Florence and some of the surrounding areas in Tuscany. Our hope was to find a nice bed and breakfast to stay in while we were there that could accomodate both areas. We decided on La Tartaruga and were so please that we did. The location is very quiet and welcoming. It was, to us, the perfect way to experience authentic Italy while we stayed. The large "Orange room" was exceptionally spacious and immaculate. The bedding was top of the line and the breakfast was gourmet quality. The room and dining room (for the wonderful breakfast) overlook the beautifully landscaped grounds. Although, this Bed and Breakfast is small (only 3 available rooms) it exceeded our expectations. Sylvie, the owner is fluent in English, French, Italian and German and absolutely goes out of her way to make every wish come true for her guests. Try La Tartaruga; you won't be dissapointed! (Wireless high speed internet is available as well). The website just doesn't do justice to the beauty and quality of the inn, but visit the website and plan your trip right away. You'll want to plan your return before you ever leave. For the budget minded travelers: the price is well below it's value! One final point is that Montecatini Terme is just a wonderful little city with quaint shops, fine (but inexpensively priced) resaraunts and very, very kind...My husband and I recently traveled to Italy. We will go again and Montecatini and the La Tartaruga will be our home base! ---
