“Trains out of Montecatini”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 21, 2013

There are two stations, one in the centre and one further out. The one in the centre is often not manned so make sure you know how to use ticket machines. Otherwise buy tickets in Tabach shops. Remember to validate them. Easy train service to Lucca, but remember they stop running mid dayish...then back around 2pm. Other guests used trains to Florence, Pisa and said it was easy.

“So much better than Montecatini Centro!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 17, 2013

Lovely architecture and well positioned on the nice side of Montecatini - advice would be to always use this station as opposed to Montecatini Centro wherever possible!

Well run railway that takes you to Florence or Pisa on a regular basis. Don't forget to validate your ticket in the machine!

“My trip to Italy 2013”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 29, 2013

We use the Montecatini Statisone Centro as the the trains are basically on time and clean. You can buy your ticket at the Tobacconist shop close by the Statisone and verify it in the Statisone prior to leaving and at the Statisone you are returning from on the way back. Montecatini has two Statisone Centro and Terme, so check where you are leaving from first! Although both are close to walk to. Centro has a toilet ask the cafe attendant for the key!
It is easy to go to Viraggio and Lucca or Florence. Just take your time to check you are on the right platform and if you are in need of assistance ask the Ticket Conductors they are friendly and helpful.
