This hotel is by-gone European luxury. Nothing remarkable. It seems nothing has been updated in a very long time. The dining room decor is ostentatious and our room was woefully small and poorly decorated (very dark and poorly lit), and overlooked the area between the hotel wings (the building is shaped like a U.) The bed was very uncomfortable and barely held two people. Food was fairly good and the staff was friendly, with exception of the manager, who threw an absolute tantrum when he found some of our tour group having evening snacks and drinks of the verandah, that were not purchased at his hotel !! Our tour director was called out and a huge argument ensued, within earshot of everyone in the lobby. Washcloths are non-existent and a steam iron is apparently considered an incendiary device, as they are not allowed in the rooms. Wi-Fi is available in the lobby only, for a fee of 5 Euros per day. Overall, on a scale of 1-10 and being generous, I would rate this hotel a six (6). In a word...adequate.

Room Tip: Bring washcloths & electricity converter

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Tamerici & Principe with a friend at the end of May.
I was happy that have selected this hotel. Extremely well located, 2 minutes away from a lovely park and the many, many spas in Montecatini.
The service was great as well.
The employees at the reception are very nice and welcoming.
A beautiful swimming pool and quiet to rest for a few hours.
You will not be disappointed to stay at this hotel.

I just got back from staying six days with a large tour group and was very weary after reading reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was a good size room. The bathroom was all marble, it did not smell, we had hot water and everything looked clean. The reception staff was friendly and extremely helpful with anything we needed, particularly Elvis who seemed to do everything there. The reception desk spoke English as well which helped greatly.
The only thing that was lacking was the food was bad. I would not eat there if possible. Food is bland. The morning buffet gives you a good amount to choose from, but they never change it. The eggs are bland, the chicken, pork, etc, nothing tasted good. That is my only compliant.
The hotel is in a wonderful location. Starting in early evening through late at night everyone strolls around and shops. The hotel is very close to lots of shops and restaurants. Overall, we had a great time and I would recommend this hotel.

Just returned from a 1 week stay in this Hotel as part of a Tour Group of mixed ages. First thing on arrival was everyone had to bring in their luggage from the bus, even elderly people, no Porter to assist. Check in was efficient, lifts were tiny , & only 2 working, thus taking a long time for 50 people & luggage.
Reception area was nice, clean , even if Old Style.
Rooms were basic, but clean, there was an old damp smell from Bathroom on arrival.
I had a single Room, which had no Hairdryer, till I asked for 1 at Reception, also, no Safe, I had to use 1 at reception.
Welcom Reception was nice.
As part of a Tour Group, we were told Dinner was at 7.30, we must all mix & match at the Tables in a small area.
Food was Minimal, with little or no choice for both Breakfast & Dinner.
Waiters were not very pleasant & in a rush to clear away after each Course.
Almost half of our Group did not eat Dinner there most nights.
After complaints from our Guide, things improved marginally , there were extra helpings offered & a porter to move the bags on departure.
Bar area was small & uninviting.
On the plus side , location was excellent, Reception Staff were very pleasant & helpful.
Would not return or reccomend , nor would any of the 50 in my group.

Room Tip: Stay Away.
