The structure is in a very good location and it must have been refurbished recently: the room we had was spacious and the spa was clean and functional. The view from the restaurant was enjoyable, they made a real effort to cope with my gluten free diet. In general the food was average but the breakfast was a real hit!!! the hotel personnel were kind and accomodating.
We had a very relaxing time and we would recommend to others.

Room Tip: we had a room in the corner and it was spacious and quiet

I spent one night in this hotel, with b&b treatment within the package Fuga alle Terme Basic, I did not love this hotel and that is why. 1) They are very slow in answering emails, I understand weekends are always hard to manage but it is unacceptable waiting from 6 to 15 hours to receive an answer back from the booking department. 2) Rooms are clean but not up to a 4 stars hotel. If I pay for a standard room and not for a suite, it does not mean I deserve to stay into a closet. But the bathroom was the most disappointing part: really small, with shower curtain, so very unhygienic. 3) Wellness area: the one at the ground floor is nice, clean, kind staff always there for you. At the first floor: disaster! No staff around, bathroom always wet and dangerous, shower stall broken, Rasul Bath dark and smelly, Salt Grot…are you kidding me?? Relaxing room …forget about it. 4) Restaurant: big, good and assorted breakfast at the 5th floor, great view. 5) Kind staff, except for the one who received us who acted a little arrogant and fake, maybe under pressure for all the arrivals. I will not go back to this hotel.

The Columbia Hotel Wellness and Spa, situated in one of the main streets of Montecatini Terme offers everything a visitor would want: friendliness of staff, cleanliness, local delicacies, weekly markets, fine food and wine and the natural beauty of the Tuscan region. It's in-house spa in two dimensions is a treat in itself where one can luxuriate for hours in the hydrapool, sauna or steam bath, or the fascinating ice cave. My Japanese wife and were so enchanted with the hotel that we are proposing to go back for a week next September and take the famous curative "waters" found near the Opera theatre which a fellow guest swears by and returns each year to purify his body.

We stayed here for our Trafalgar tour and loved everything about it. Our room was very sound proof, we had a large jet tub, a great sitting area downstairs, a great staff that was helpful and fun, two computers to use, free WiFi, and nice restruant on the fifth floor with a nice view. The front desk staff spoke English and were very helpful with information. The wait staff spoke very little English, but once they knew you and your daily likes and needs, they were extremly helpful.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a balcony. They are only about two feet out, but it adds to the ambiance
