We were nicely surprised with this little hotel.
The hotel decorations is really original, each room has an unique decoration, everything evokes a really vital spirit.
The owners were really kind and friendly.

What can I say!
I have just returned from a six night stay at the Albergo Esperia and can honestly say I had a truly unforgettable experience.
It is a unique hotel with decor inspired by Gaudi's surrealist art nouveau style.
The rooms were of a credible standard and where cleaned on a daily basis with fresh sheets, towels soaps etc.
The view is absolutely divine with a view of the rich blue Mediterranean Sea and on a clear day the Aeolian Islands can be seen.
The concept of just providing a breakfast service is not a negative point but one to be complemented as there are plenty of restaurants in Milazzo, that are at reasonable prices (who wants to eat in the hotel you are staying at every night anyway, when there are so many different varieties of cuisine to try).
The staff were all competent in English and happy to help at any opportunity.
Overall a real gem of a hotel and would highly recommend it!

We stayed here for two days during August 2011. We were interrailing, and when we arrived at the hotel to ask for a room, it was fully booked the next two nights. Since we were looking to stay 4 days in Milazzo, we had to find another place to stay for two nights.

One of the owners personally followed us to a B&B nearby (Villa Rodriguez), while carrying some of our luggage, and talked to the lady who owned it for us! He also told us that it would be no problem for us to use the Esperia sunbeds and umbrellas by the beach while staying at VR for the first two days.

Staying at Esperia was great! The rooms were nice, the service was great, the breakfast was good, free WiFi in the reception and free cable internet in the rooms. All in all, a great experience :)

We spent here 2 days in March and we have been sympaticaly received. We rent on of the furnished appartment behind the hotel (very calm, 1 bed room + 1 living room + Kitchen). Appartment has been created or renewed recently in a modern style. We strongly recommend this B&B.

My wife and I spend a few days in Milazzo as a gateway to Stromboli. The Hotel Esperia is overviewing the beach (which is so so). The ambiance is very modern and truly "designed". The basement, which has breakfast area and family style TV room with a drop down screen, is the underwaterworld, the lobby and ground floor follows a design them from Ulyssys (or Odysseus), the 1st floor has the Aeolian Island and so on. The rooms are super clean, comfortable and the ocean side balconies have a great view. The staff (Daniel at the front desk - always in suit and tie) bends over backwards to be helpful. He made calls for us to Alitalia, helped us with ferry tickets and served a great breakfast at 6:30 AM, so we did not have to take the ferry to Stromboli on an empty stomach.
In the afternoon, the owners Giovanni and his brother in law Vincenzo, come from their day jobs as an eletrical engineer and geologist, respectively, to have a drink at the bar with the hotel guests. They have a small library with good books about Sicily, the Aeolian Island and the mythology that makes Sicily so special. The owners love to host guests and you feel more like a friend than a customer. This Hotel is so unexpected in a place like Milazzo, which is not famous as a resort, but, as gateway to the Aolian Islands, it is perfect. We parked our car in front of the Hotel while gone for a day to Stromboli and they assured us to keep an eye on it.

We spent 3 days here in mid-September. Although it was very hot- 35 degrees- the season was over and the place was virtually deserted. The hotel is located on the Tono peninsula, overlooking a long wide beach of fine shingle. It is beautifully decorated- each room has an individually painted door panel, and all the rooms are different. Even the staircase is a work of art!. You pay extra for a sea view, but it is worth it. Meals are served in the courtyard: good breakfast buffet, and delicious seafood. I would go back!
