What a great place to stay! Friendly hosts, who obviously care a great deal that their guests have a good holiday, but never impose or get in your space.
A lovely gite, with lots of space, and very clean. Charming accommodation, a very comfortable bed. Lots of facilities, including a washing machine, which was very handy. A great area to stay in, close to the Brest-Nantes canal, where it is possible to rent a bike to cycle on the tow path, or a kayak to paddle up the waterway. Lots of interesting local towns to visit too. Or do what we did and spend time just sitting in the garden reading and soaking up the sun. Loved it here..hope to visit again.
A beautiful setting for a rural gite. Set in pretty gardens, this gite is clean, well equipped, complete with a wood burner and a washing machine, a garden of its own. The hosts are friendly and welcoming, happy to answer queries, but equally respect privacy and give the guests plenty of space. The accommodation is on a horse farm, but the animals are not near the gite; there are also sheep here. When we stayed the weather was warm and sunny, and we spent time relaxing in the gardens, as well as visiting the many attractions in the area. This is an excellent region for cycling or walking, close to the Nantes Brest canal, with access to the tow path for both these activities. There is a cycle hire centre, and a local horse riding centre, as well as plenty of local towns and villages with museums, shops, tourist information offices etc. In summer there seem to be many different fetes, festivals, and celebrations happening, so there is always plenty to do. We will certainly be coming back here.
The Gite at Ker Herve is a wonderfully relaxing place to stay. The location is very rural, amidst rolling hills with picturesque views. The hosts were there to greet and show me around the property. It is well equipped with a kitchen and dining area, a lounge with TV (and comfortable sofabed) and upstairs is the main bedroom and bathroom with a shower and separate bath. It is very well presented and I felt immediately at home. The Gite is relatively remote so a car would be useful to get around to the nearby towns. Thoroughly recommended.
Perfect situation for a peaceful break. Beautiful surroundings. We went for local walks - nearby canal perfect for this. Lizzie and Graham ideal hosts, lending us their BBQ and providing ice every evening. (No ice box in kitchen fridge) The only "absence" was lids for the saucepans!
Only stayed for a long w/end. Wish we had stayed longer. If you want piece and quite in lovely countryside then this is for you. The four of us had plenty of room even though there is only one bedroom. The sofa-bed is fine. There is satellite TV but we didn't use it and everything you could need in the kitchen. If you are there to get out and about you are in for a treat, there's next to no traffic. All in all, a great place to chill out.
We have just spent a lovely week in the smaller of the two gites at Ker Herve. It was just right for the two of us and had everything we needed. We loved the welcome we got from Clover and Harry, the two Weimaraners, and Smokey Robinson the cat! And the night sky here with no light pollution is just amazing. Our only niggle was the WiFi didn't work, (but maybe it was a good thing to be completely cut off for a week!) It was a perfect base for exploring Southern Finistere and we loved it.
