“Convenient and Trouble-Free”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

I had not planned to stay at Hotel Venezia and came upon it by mere chance because another hotel I had reserved was unacceptable. Hotel Venezia is apparently a family-run establishment, and I found its location, proximity to transportation, decor, and level of professional service to be well worth the 75 EUR per night. They offer a very adequate breakfast buffet with a lot of choices including coffee, tea, orange juice, yogurt, ham, cheeses, fresh breads, cereal, and so on. They also have a very elegant restaurant. Although I did not eat dinner there, I did look at the menu, and their selection was very good, and the prices were especially good. Our room was very nicely decorated, and I loved the small details, like the heated towel rack and ample space to store our luggage. Of course the foyer downstairs is absolutely beautiful, and no, the rooms do not maintain this frivolity, but are still clean, decorated, and relaxing. Had a great night's sleep.

Located in the center of Mestre, the heart of Venice is easily accessible. I absolutely loved this nicely located and well furbished three star hotel. It has a great combination of old-fashioned charm and utility. My room is quite compact and simply furnished with air conditioning, satellite tv, a safe, telephone, hair dryer and complimentary wi-fi connection. Continental breakfast was simple yet tasty and dinner was impeccable.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Venezia. It was good value for Venice and was very close to shopping and the bus route into Venice proper - approximately 15 minute ride. The food in the restaurant was some of the best we had in Venice. Would definitely recommend this if you don't want to stay in old Venice.

To be fair, this hotel is in Mestre which is the part of Venice on the mainland. You take a bus into Historic Venice. The Bus (4L) is cheap, runs from a stop about 100 meters away and is fast and comfortable. I have stayed here before. Stayed two nights on Business. Internet had lots of problems which was the only downside. Rooms are small but have everything including a safe. Breakfast was fine if uninspired.

Room Tip: If you don't like your room, ask to see another . Staff are helpful.

When you stay in one of the hotels belonging to one of the large hotel groups, once you step through the door you could be in any city or any country, they are all the same. When you step through the door of the Venezia, you are in no doubt that you are in Italy, lots of gold coloured ornate architraves, statues, marble flooring and heavy rich curtains are everywhere. The dining room was exceptional as far as the furnishings and decor were concerned. The food, while not exceptional, was reasonable and good value. The service provided by the staff was good and helpful and helped us greatly to find our way around the area and Venice. The rooms, which were a reasonable size, were also furnished as per the rest of the hotel. The hotel which is located just off the main street, with no passing traffic was very quiet. All in all a pleasant place to stay.
