“A good choice for visiting Venice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

Our family of 4 stayed here 2 nights and selected it for its location close to the bus to Venice and ease of parking the car, etc.
The hotel is a mid-range business hotel but getting a little tired. Venice is very expensive and this hotel seems to be using those prices to justify higher than average prices for the quality of hotel.
The breakfast was ok - basic Italian fare.
Pros: Free and ample parking; free in-room Wifi; staff were helpful and made sure we had appropriate tickets for Venice visit. The bus picked us up just across the street and in 25 minutes we were on the vaporetto in Venice.
Cons: Hotel is getting tired; is in a park but the park looks more tired than the hotel (someone did landscaping once but they tired of it).
While we knew we would not be able to drive near Venice, we did not expect Mestre to be car-unfriendly and we did not have bikes - impossible to get around and the hotel was just a bit too far out of the way to get from otherwise.
Don't miss downloading Rick Steves audiotour of the Grand Canal. It was great and our whole family enjoyed both the boat trip and the commentary.

We have just returned from a cruise that left from Venice and chose this hotel because it was convenient for both the cruise port and the Treviso airport, having flown by Ryan air.
We caught the bus from the airport to Mestre station. Then walked to the hotel. Make sure you check on the map if you plan to walk as it is a 10 minute walk if you turn left out of the station. There is another route that the bus number 7 takes from Via Cappuccina... this takes over an hour to walk...not much fun with cases...but this wasn't the hotels fault, it was ours for not checking the route before leaving.
The hotel is much nicer than the ones right by the station and worth the effort. You could of course just take a cab... The bus is 1 euro 50 if you buy a ticket from the shops, or 2 euros 50 if you get it on board. You can get a pass from 18 euros ( 12 hrs ) that gets you on the bus and the vaperetto. ( Water bus ) so effectively you can travel to and from venice from Mestre and get of and on as many times as you like. Its only 20 mins to Venice from the bus stop opposite the hotel and an easy journey in. If you choose this hotel for a cruise, don't take a taxi to the cruise terminal it costs 40 euros. Get the bus! 1 euro 50 and then get off at the stop where you see the cruise ships, don't bother going into the final stop at Piazza Roma and get the people mover as we discovered it doesn't really take you any nearer to the boats and basically added half an hour to our journey as it was heaving... it also cost another euro each for a 2 minute journey taking you back to where the bus just came from... we did this on the way out as we assumed the people mover train went to the heart of the cruise terminal...it doesn't. On the way back we just walked to Piazza Roma.
The hotel was lovely. Room perfect for us. ( 2 adults 2 teenage boys. ) We had a mini suite. Good value at £177 in July in comparison to two rooms ( Lots of hotels don't accommodate four in Venice ) Lovely restaurant in the hotel, but also if you turn right from the hotel, past the nice ice cream parlour ( Yum ) and then turn next right walk down the road about 200 metres and you will come to a restaurant called chicken something ( In Italian ). Lovely food. Very reasonably priced... Ask on the reception and they will tell you about it any way. Emma was particularly helpful and we are very grateful to her! All in all, a fabulous place. gardens very nice. In my opinion Mestre is a great choice. Hotels in Venice itself don't really have gardens and the Ai Pini has a lovely one. For anyone going on a cruise. This is an ideal choice....We will definitely stay there again on our next trip to Venice.

My husband and I had been driving through Italy so we needed a place to stay near Venice that had parking. Since cars are not allowed in Venice, Ai Pini was the closest -- and nicest -- place we could find. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. A lovely breakfast was included in the price. And we had dinner there the evening we arrived that was delicious (and moderately priced). The room had everything we needed, including a desk and sofa, and free wi-fi.

The only negative, and this is not the fault of the hotel, is that it takes about an hour to get to the heart of Venice. We needed to take a bus, then get on a water taxi that winds down the Grand Canal before we arrived at St. Mark's Square. However, we considered this as sort of a tour and just enjoyed the ride!

Beginning of June we were in Chianti Toscane and decided to visit Venice (since it was autumn in Holland). At the internet we found this hotel and it is on a perfect location; close to the highway & a spacious private parking place.
There is a busstop across the road and you will in downtown Venice within 20 minutes.
Bustickets and tickets for the water bus can be bought at the hotel reception desk.

All personnel of the hotel reception was very friendly and helpfull. Also their knowledge of Venice and the other islands was impressive. They gave us lots of tips and they were absolutely worth visiting.

Also the waiters in the restaurants were great! Always friendly and with a big smile. And the food was great.

The rooms were very clean and in the garden there are all these little lounge area's which are perfect to have a glass of wine at the end of the day (when your feet are killing you from wandering around in Venice).

I went in Venice for a Meeting last week (June 2012), I had organized a study Visit with people from different countries...the owner and all the staff of the hotel was perfect! they were very helpfull, gentle, kind and patient. the rooms are comfortable...the place (nestled in the pines) is quiet and peaceful..the food, that normally in Venice is not very good, in the hotel is great and not expencive..try the CORNETTI in the morning and the seafood like the FRITTURA for dinner!
A good surprise!
Very very good! that's it!

This is a great hotel, it is well equipped to make the trip into venice easy they sell water bus and general bus passes at reception.

The staff are all multi lingual and super friendly and professional.

The rooms are very clean and spacious plus it has good parking available.

Breakfast is ample with a good range of options.

We enjoyed our stay here and recommend the bus/vaporetto pass we made excelent use out of it - plus go to murano and burano using it. its heaps cheaper and worth the trip we loved it.

This is a good hotel for singles, couples and families.
