“awful hotel”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013

We were booked into this hotel for 2 nights prior to a cruise by Thomas Cook. It was awful, dingy and dark. Our room had broken unusable furniture and no drawers for clothes, cheap laminate flooring that was all peeling and a broken tv with an array of dangerous looking wires hanging from it. The bathroom was clean but with a very slippy floor and no shower curtain so everything was wet. Breakfast was served in a very cramped space but tasted ok. The biggest problem was the lack of eating facilities in the area in the evening. The nearest restaurant was a bus ride away and the last bus back was 8pm. Why a reputable holiday company would use an awful hotel like this is beyond understanding.

Stayed one night post cruise thanks to Thomas Cook!! Allocated a room on first floor with a bathroom which was disgusting. Mould all around the shower tray and ceiling, toilet right in front of shower tray, cracked tiles, extractor fan totally clogged with fluff, and one energy saving lightbulb which took an age to heat up. Had to beg to get air con on, sheets on bed were damp due to humidity, view from window was over a buliding site with rubbish. Would not give this hotel one star, has definately seen better days, nowhere to eat for miles so go to the Lidl supermaket and buy provisions!!!! Thank god it was only one night. Breakfast w as OK, the usual breads cereals etc, the staff were actually quite nice I felt sorry for them with the nuber of complaints they were getting, young man on reception said what did you expect for the price? well that would have been a fair comment if I had booked it myself but as it was included in my cruise package I never thought that Thomas Cook would send its customers to a hotel of such a bad standard. Definately NOT 3 star more like 1. If you want a very cheap hotel within striking distance of Venice this is the one for you if not steer clear,

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony or terrace I believe these are slightly better.

Be careful about booking into this hotel. It is not as near to Venice as you may think and the bus services are not as good as they make out. Taxi services are expensive. The facilities in the hotel rooms are really poor - we didn't even have air conditioning, My advice would be to spend a little more money on something better, especially if you can get closer to Mestre centre or even better Venice itself!

We stayed for 5 nights. The room was basic but clean. Towels and sheets changed daily. Bathroom again basic but clean. Shower could have been better but it did the job. Beds comfortable. Breakfast was adequate - who goes abroad to have a full English? Croissants & coffee available - say no more. Staff were friendly and helpful. About 25 minutes from Venice if using public transport and the bus stop is nearby. 20 minutes steady walk into the centre of Mestre where there are several places to eat or drink.

We stayed at this hotel for one night after getting off a cruise (not a good idea). After being treated like royalty for a week and then end up in this less than average hotel, was a recipe for disaster. Checked into the hotel, quite gloomy reception, as are the landings to the bedrooms. From the website was expecting...

We were booked into this hotel by Thomas Cook Cruises what can you say about it ? Well it is clean the beds are comfortable it is very poorly equipt very old fashion and what is more important it is miles from anywhere. There is not an eating establishment within miles. The bus into Venice is convieniently close by and there is a breakfast included. It is typical of small Italian hotels but it is disappointing when you first arrive fortunately we only stayed one night.Would I go back NO.

Room Tip: WE had three and there isnt one

The moment we arrived I knew it was the biggest mistake I have ever mad booking that hotel. Would not recommend it especially if you have kids. Clean but needs new furniture, soft furnishings, carpets (burgundy but look brown). Every bad review they received here was accurate. We arrived 13 August and checked out 15 August 2013. It was a nightmare!

Not a place to take the kids. Booked 5 nights we checked out after 2 nights and went to a better hotel.

Room Tip: Do not book this hotel especially with children. It looks and felt like a drug spot for thugs.
