Hotel Paris is ideal if you want to visit Venice and don't want to spend a fortune on accommodation on the island. The hotel is comfortable and well appointed for its star rating. The rooms we had were large and comfortable and up to date. Breakfast is a basic buffet, but plentiful and well presented and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The selling point of Hotel Paris is that it is in a quiet, if not scenic, side street only 3 minutes walk to Venice Mestre railway station from where trains leave for Venice St Lucia every few minutes, taking only 10 minutes to put you right on the canal side; cheap too, only euro 2.5 return. (believe me, for Venice that is ridiculously cheap). Regular trains leave for Padua, Verona, Milan etc also at reasonable prices. I recommend Hotel Paris

Room tip: We chose an uprated room, it was big and comfy

I just came back from Venice and I want to express my good feelings towards the staff
of Hotel Paris and especially Claudia, the bubbly blond lady at reception. We felt good in this hotel, although it was just a place to sleep and wash for us. The exterior and the reception area are not very attractive but the rooms are nice and clean and the dining area as well. They are all quite small, for some people it may be a problem.I was surprised how quiet the place was considering the small distance to the station. The location is actually perfect for a budget traveller. We went to the train/ bus stop for 2-3 minutes. There is a nice restaurant on the corner - Soul Kitchen, opposite the station.
And along Via Piave you can find Chinese food and a big Ali supermarket, about 500m
from the station.
I read a note from Lotte H about some problem she had but my experience is just the
opposite - the staff was efficient and polite and we were even allowed to leave our luggage there for a few hours after check out. People in Venice are not the typical Italians - they work hard, speak foreign languages and act fast. Thank you for your hospitality!

This is a nice hotel conveniently located to the Mestre train station (5-10 minute walk). Staff were all pleasant and helpful.

Our room was a good size and clean.

Breakfast was basic but adequate enough.

Piazza Ferretto is within walking distance (about 25 minutes), and along the way are some bars/cafes, trattorias, various shops and a small supermarket.

Overall the hotel is a good base to explore enchanting Venice, which is a 10 minute train ride costing €1.25 each way.

A frequent bus service also links Mestre railway station and Marco Polo airport, costing €6 each way and taking approximately 20 minutes.

We had a doubelroom for three days... The last day when we checked out, they told us there was a problem. They thought that it smelled wine in room. The funny thing is that we did not drink any wine in room. They said we have to pay 150 euros. We tried to tell that this could not vote, there had to be a mistake, but no they would not listen to us and we had to pay the 150 euro. We have been doing a lot to traveling and never have this experience before. Those who worked there was insufferable and we dont recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Room tip: Never stay at this hotel
