Used the hotel only for one night after the cruise. We had an Avant junior suite that was very large and very clean room.
There is a very nice deal for lunch for a few euro you get a decent meal. Also the breakfast is good not much choice but enough to start your day.
The location is the best .You are just at the front of the train station and after a short ride you are in magic Venice.
Tip:Visit the old city of Mestre with a cute piazza and planty of shops and caffes. It is about 20 min. walk from the hotel.

We booked this room online for 4 nights pre Cruise for location to train station. We had been to Venice before & also had overnight on ship before sailing so wanted to do some Other sightseeing. Went to Verona,Trieste,& Milan by train. It was so easy! T he station is right across the street. Hotel staff so helpful ----unlike the train personal! We took a cab from Airport -maybe more expensive than other ways ,but convenient .Our room was not ready but were given drinks & snack while waiting-15 min. We booked a luxury room so don't know what the others were like. Ours was spacious with Separate- shower,-bidet,& tub. Breakfast is outstanding!!!! We would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is 10 min. to Venice by train which arrives close to everything.
Take a cab to Cruise terminal.

Room Tip: luxury- rooms at back are quieter..

if you plan to viist venice just stay at Bologna hotel.
Pros
:LOCATION: its right opp the Mestre train station (15mins train ride to venice sl station) & costs 1 euro. Hotels in venice are 3 times the price for similar category.
Also to reach most venice hotels, from the airport or station, you have to carry your own baggage through the lanes of venice & use water buses as well. Here you have the train station right across & also a bus stop. Excellent connectivity.
Rooms : we stayed at the Avant Junior suite from 14th to 16th oct 2013 - very good size room & an even better bathroom. Unbelievable for European standards. Very clean & tidy.
Breakfast : Very good especially the coffee.
Service : The reception staff were very very helpful & give you the best advise of how to see venice etc. They also sell the train tickets at no extra charge from the reception itself.

We found this hotel ideal in every way to see venice. Also there is a very good chinese eatery closeby a coffeeshop right across.

Guided only by the reviews on T.Advisor, we booked 2 twin rooms pre-cruise and was not disappointed in the least. Easy transfer from the Airport Shuttle to Mestre Station and then a 3 minute walk to the hotel. PROS - Spotless rooms with crisp linen and appointments. Reception Staff excellent and eager to help at anytime. They seem to welcome Australians with open arms! Hotel v near places to eat, the hotel has a Bistro with a (from memory) 18 Euro 2 course Dinner special. Great food and more than ample serves. The included Breakfast was also excellent with varied European Meats, Cheese, Pastries and Eggs etc. Again more than ample and served with smiles from the waiting staff. Reception were able to arrange mini-bus transfers to the cruise ship which was great as there were six of us in the van plus a mountain of baggage. Mestre Station is 2 stops from Marco Polo Station in Venice and right in the middle of the action. Reception sell the tickets for the train. Great value as we paid around AUD90 pp pn much better than the inflated downtown Venice prices our T/Agent quoted. CONS - Mestre not the livliest place but then after a days touring, drinks in the bar and dinner - who wanted nightlife? This is a little gem in Venice, highly recommended. Mille Grazie to all the staff.

Stayed here half term Oct. Read all reviews and glad I took the advice of many who recommended this hotel for visiting Venice.Straight out of rail station across the road and into main reception. Room was ready early and was spacious and very clean Bed very comfortable. All staff very polite and all room service staff all wished you good morning/evening. Buffet breakfast and constantly refreshed impossible to walk away hungry. Reception can provide all travel tickets for trains etc and Venice only one stop away, cost was €2.40.for two tickets (to and return) approx £2.30 ish.we found this more than offset the higher cost of staying in Venice.Train leaves every ten minutes and is easy to negotiate. Would definitely recommend and would strongly recommend for visiting Venice.

Room Tip: Never heard any train noise but if this is a concern asked to placed on the back of hotel we had ver...

The staff at this hotel are excellent. My friend had an accident in the train station and hotel staff couldn't do enough for us....fast check in....called a taxi to take us to the hospital and followed up with us the next day. Everyone was just wonderful. I wish I had paid more attention to names as I would have liked to thank them personally.
On top of that our room was spotless, modern and well designed. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was great with a large selection of hot and cold items and delicious coffee.

This hotel is perfectly located for buses and trains into Venice. It is clean, modern and the staff are excellent, especially Chiara and Elena on reception.
The breakfast was good-a wide selection on offer.
We had a large suite room 127. We loved the Murano glass installation and the beds were very comfortable. The room was at the end of the corridor facing Via Piave and we slept soundly with no traffic noise disturbing us.
We would return.

Room Tip: Room 127 is ideal for a family.
