“Great Location”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

I booked this based on TA comments. Excellent location. Clean hotel. Good breakfast. We asked for a room away from the lifts and not facing the main road, and got what we asked for. It was fine. The air-conditioning did struggle with the heat. But overall the place was terrific. The bar had a great atmosphere, and catered well for all ages. The staff were excellent, and were very attentive to our needs. Venice itself was chaos and I am glad we stayed where we did, certainly to avoid dragging luggage through Venice itself. Best Western was right across the road from the train station. Agree with other TA comments on the nice smelling towels.

Room Tip: Definitely away from the lifts and not facing the main road. We always insist on NON smoking.

We ended our trip in Venice at this hotel and it was wonderful. We had a big 2 room suite with lots of room for the kids to play. Staff was friendly and gave each kid a stuffed toy. Breakfast was great. Lots of variety each day. Hot and old selections. Best part about our stay was how amazing the towels smelt. After having them on the heated towel rack th whole bathroom smelt great!

Just stayed there for 2 nights, it was definitely more relax than across the island where it is very crowded and noisy due to start of summer holiday. Forthose with Heavy luggages this is a bless since it is just right across the station!

Good thing we asked for non-smoking room so we are at a one wing where it is relatively quiet, this I strongly recommend in view of all the complaints of "cardboard" walls as it was quiet! And our room was spacious!

Breakfast is quite good, except I have drank better Coffee in any coffee shops in Venice. Restaurant staff are courteous but without smile, guess they are overwhelm with so many breakfast goers.

Good thing was there was also laundromat nearby (2 in fact), just ask the staff for directions, which are very courteous.

All train stops at Mestre, onwards to Venice island so it is convenient, just remember to stamp your ticket before you got on the train as one family had to pay a fine for not doing it. Only pity I feel for not staying on the island is the night view of San Mark square and negates the long walk back to either the train station or bus terminal back to the mainland.

All in all We had a nice experience.

We arrived by train and realized that the tickets were left on the train. Husband had to go to Venice on train to find our train tickets so I was able to get both sets of luggage across the street by myself. Good that they both roll on four wheels.

Room was clean and crisp. I love the decor and the lovely sayings on the mirrors. The bathroom was really large and so inviting and the shower is large and water was nice and hot. The bed was very comfortable. The only drawback for to people for Texas Gulf Coast is that the a/c does not come on until the temperature outside goes up high enough. So we opened the windows at night to let the cool air in since it was late April. The only problem was the Dove at 4 a.m. cooing outside.

Moreno from the Bar Staff made a Great Margarita. He is a pleasure to see after a day of walking up and down the bridges in Venice. Barbara and Jessica were great at getting us sit up to see the Glass Factory in Morano. Their English was great. We had no problem with communication doing our trip.

The breakfast are great and the buffet selection was perfect to start the day. The dinners at the restaurant were 5 star. I also enjoyed Moreno's wonderful happy personality at our dinner with the drinks. The staff through the whole stay were wonderful and I am going to say this is a 5 star Hotel. Thank you to a wonderful Staff! You made our trip to Venice very memorable.

We stayed here for three nights in May 2013. The location is perfect for visiting Venice and avoiding all of the headache that goes with staying in the heart of Venice, such as crowds and carrying luggage. It's right across the street from the train station, and it's less than a ten minute ride into the city.
The room was large and clean, but it was very noising due to the traffic outside and people roaming the halls at night.
The breakfast was ok, but the coffee was terrible.
Overall this is a great place to stay if you want to visit Venice and avoid the crowds and hassle and also save some money.

Friends recommended this place across the street from the train and they were right. Just renovated, spacious rooms and a great breakfast. The staff was most helpful about transport and made the train to Venice very easy.

The hotel is nice; the breakfast is great and the staff is professionnal. The location is great too, since it is really close to the train station. The size of our room was ok and we had a HUGE bathroom (half the rest of the room...), but the room wasn't as clean as I thought it would be. Also, the door wasn't soundproof, so in the morning, and late night, we were frequently awakened by other people in the corridor. Finally, there was a fee we weren't aware of since we made our reservation on Priceline (a tax of 25 euros per night).
