I stayed here 1 night in early June with my girlfriend before going on a cruise. We stayed in London 2 nights before flying to Venice.

I booked this hotel months in advance and choose as an option the 'Happy Cruise Package' where for 55 Euros a private car (Mercedes Benz) picked us up from Venice Marco Polo airport and drove us to the hotel. The next day we were driven from the hotel to the cruise ship pier. Two transfers, a great price travelling in luxury.

First off this hotel is very modern, clean with very nice rooms, huge washroom and nice decor. Found the staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we missed the breakfast provided as we slept in.

After we got to the hotel, put our luggage away we took the train 1 stop to the canals of Venice in the early evening before it got dark. A return train ticket was just over 4 Euros for 2 people and the train station was across the street. A 15 minute train trip away from Venice.

Venice is a very expensive place to visit for accomodations and food. This hotel is affordably priced (for Venice) and a great location. For the price we paid for this hotel it would cost about double or more in the canals of Venice for the same quality accomodations and here you don't have to lug your luggage around the canals.

WELL THIS HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST BEST WESTERN HOTELS EVER!
It is in a superb inner city location on the Mestre just across the road from the train station with a direct train that takes only a few minutes to Venice waterways and cost 1.05 Euros each way.
The reception staff and management are wonderfull and nothiung is to much trouble for them. A big thumbs up and thank you to the front office manager ANDREA GALDIOLO as i forgot to bring my medication and he took me to the pharmacy as i could not speak a word of Itailian. He then contacted the local Doctors service and arranged for the Doctor to call at the hotel using the Itailian health service as i needed a prescription. Cost me 15 Euros for the Doctor to come out and he was there within two hours...WOW puts our NHS to shame!
Both restaurants are very good serving great food with great service the only thing that slightly let the hotel down was that the breakfeast was basic!
Hotel rooms excellent however I would recommend paying the extra and getting a junior suite which is well worth the little extra cost.
ALL IN ALL SUPERB HOTEL, GREAT CITY LOCATION WITH FANTASTIC VERY HELPFULL STAFF HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Six friends travelling together stayed in this property twice this month, pre and post a Mediterranean cruise. We found the location ideal because most of us had arrived by train and it is located directly opposite the railway station; friends arriving by air to meet up with us where easily transported by the 'city link' airport bus to/from the airport to a nearby location which was within easy walking distance. The hotel is modern, very clean and has a good breakfast selection together with a Bistro and Restaurant serving value for money food. The staff were exceptionally helpful and caring when one of our party had a purse stolen on the local bus. The staff also recommended a company to transfer our group to our ship, we did not have to pay the Hotel for this service but the company direct on the day so it was extrememly easy and comfortable. Fortunately we prepaid for a return transfer when the ship arrived back in Venice and were so glad because there were four large vessels disembarking passengers and the water taxi's had gone on strike. One would have had to wait for a couple of hours to get a taxi to the airport or to Venice Mestre.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the main road are quieter

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights with a friend purley to visit Venice. Mestre station across the road, it's only a quick trip to Venice so value for money is second to none. I thought the staff were a bit abrupt, however the number of tourists in the area would be enough to annoy anyone after a while. The rooms were great and pretty spacious. The breakast was fantastic and free wi-fi was a bonus.

I NEVER enjoy hotels enough to want to go back to them, but I'm looking forward to going back to The Hotel Bologna. I'm a fussy hotel user and this is the best hotel I've stayed in for a very long while. The staff are exceptional, and the food and rooms are high quality. It provides excellent value for money (especially compared with hotels in Venice itself) and with Venice a 5 minute cheap and frequent train ride away and the railway station very close at hand, why would you want to stay in Venice? I genuinely can't think of a single negative comment to make about this hotel, and believe me, I've never stayed in any other hotel I can say that about. I can wholeheartedly recommend the Hotel Bologna. In case you are worried that this sounds like advertising hyperbole, please be assured it's all genuine - except for being a very satisfied customer I have no connection with the hotel what-so-ever.

The Hotel Bologna in Venice Mestre was a good choice for us, as we were driving through Italy and finding accommodation with parking in Venice is not an easy task.

The hotel was across the road from the train station and getting into Venice was a quick 10 minute trip - and very cheap.

We ate in the very good restaurant several times during our 3 day stopover and can highly recommend both the restaurant and the bar outside - good atmosphere and reasonable prices.

The highlight of the stay was, of course, the sightseeing in Venice and we also managed to get across to Murano for the excellent glass shopping.

This was our 3rd time in Venice, but it is still interesting, and we manage to find new things to do each time we visit.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the hotel -it is quieter
