“nice accommodations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

stayed just one night but the accommodations were nice. We had two single beds pushed together but made it work. The room was a little warm at first but then cooled down then it was great. Food wasn't anything to look forward to

We stayed here pre and post cruise and found it to be very clean and comfortable. The bathroom although fully equipped was a bit of a squeeze and we were far from overweight so god help anyone who is that gets this room 604. Breakfast was just the usual continental cold cuts of meat eggs coffee and juice. Overall ok for what we used it for.

Stayed 3 nights in sister hotel despite booking this one. So don't assume you'll be put up here.Room good size but dark wooden cladding and sparse dull furniture made feel unwelcoming. No tea making facilities. Little information about facilities because there are none really. Breakfast poor. No fresh fruit, meats and cheese synthetic. Coffee and juices poor quality. Bread stale. Only good point about hotel was its easy transport access to Venice 4and 4a bus right outside hotel takes you straight to Piazza Roma in 20 mins
This really is no better than a travel lodge and frequented by pre and post cruise clients so long queues at desk a regular feature. Lifts small when manoeuvring luggage.

The hotel has a problem with the heating. When we arrived at the hotel there was bad weather in Venice and Mestre. We have asked how to start the AC and the answer was there is no heating in Venice because of the city... that is not an answer of a 4* hotel. Breakfast is terrible, there is only 1 type of ham,1 type of cheese, scrambled eggs which are prepared at 7 (if you eat at 9 NOT recommended), some cereals, marmalade and croissants.

The rooms are clean but they would need a bit of redecoration in the bathroom as one can see that it has been used a lot of times.

Overall the staff is nice and helpful.

The room was cramped for two people. It was difficult to move around. The food was adequate, but not outstanding. My rating is a 2.I really was not pleased with my stay and eagerly looked forward to moving on to the next hotel on the tour. This was a two night stay that I could not wait to end.

This hotel has mixed reviews regarding quality and service, therefore I think it really depends on what you want. Our stay was split, initially staying for 2 nights and a week later for 1further night. Our first stay was in room 101, at the back. Newly decorated, very contemporary, clean and simple lines. The bedroom was compact with a spacious shower room / toilet. Not much room to put 2 suitcases but was fine for a couple of nights. Our second stay was room 701, at the front - enormous room with traditional decoration, clean and cosy. The shower room / toilet was adequate size but the shower power was very good. The hotel hair dryer was not very powerful

The continental breakfast is complimentary and was very nice. Self service, coffee / tea making machines and fruit juice. Buffet style service - cereal, yoghurt, jams, dried fruit, croissant /cake , ham and cheese. There was also scrambled eggs, bacon and bread. As much as you like.

The staff were very helpful with questions about WiFi, buses, directions to bus stops and ticket info. Buy your travel tickets from the hotel, they work out cheaper, almost half the price than paying on the bus per trip. Or buy travel ticket for bus and water bus from kiosk rather than per trip. The bus stop to Venice is on the opposite side of the road to the hotel - number 4L or 4 takes you to Piazza la Roma (main bus terminal in Venice). Takes about 20 minutes. Don't queue, just jump on as everyone else does. The return bus stop is directly outside the hotel.

We got the ATVO bus from Treviso airport direct to Mestre. Got off at Mestre bus/train terminal. With the terminal behind you - turn right, at the small roundabout turn right which takes you upwards towards the main road, this is Corso del Popolo - at the top turn left at which point you will see the Ambasciatori on the other side of the road, approx 500m. All in all just over a 5minute walk. The return ATVO bus stop is at the far end of Corso del Popolo, outside the BNR Bank. Coming out of the hotel turn right, keep walking til you see the roundabout at the end. You buy your ticket from the machine at the bus stop. Pick language, destination and number of tickets then feed your money into the machine. The driver does not take money. 10 euros each person each way or 18 euros return.

All in all the hotel was good value for money. I would recommend it and I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask when booking for a room at front of hotel. They appear to be larger than rooms at the back of th...

This was a great pick. Not only are you close to Venice, but the location of the hotel is perfect for connecting to transportation and convenience. And the staff was great! They were very helpful, gave great advice on what to do and how to do it, and made sure everything was wonderful. The restaurant on property was great and the breakfast was a good way to start. There is a market a short walk away, and the train station is relatively close, although when we went there, there was a fair amount of construction along the roadways making it a bit hazardous to get there. A nice place to set up your base of operations for a Venice trip or to get on the train to go to other spots in Italy. Great choice
