“Good Hotel in Mestre”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

We stayed in the Ambasciatori Hotel a few weeks ago. Although the décor is retro, well old fashioned, we found the hotel clean. We received a fair sized room with a good firm bed with free working Wi-Fi, a safe, a fridge and a small flat screen TV. The bedroom was fine for the two of us, well we only slept in it and the bathroom was fine. The staff was fine, as well as being polite and helpful. They were certainly less snobby than the people in Venice itself. The reception sells bus tickets for the 4L bus that goes directly to Plaza Roma in Venice, yes it takes only ten minutes and yes there seems no concept of queueing, well there’s none where I live either.
The breakfast was fine, the usual choice on the continent; eggs (don’t eat them so can’t comment), ham , salami, cheese, yoghurt, cereal and coffee (also don’t drink), it was fine for us. The surrounding neighbourhood was very quiet and seemed perfectly safe, being mainly residential. The PAM supermarket was great for snacks for our day-trips, because Venice is dear! The nearby gelato just had some of the best ice-creams and cakes ever, and the two nearby pizza places were also fantastic.
Overall the Ambasciatori was good value for money, it was fine for us, but I suppose it depends on some people’s standards.

My fiancé picked this hotel as part of a groupon deal as a surprise a few days before we travelled. He did this without reading past trip advisor reviews 1st which is what I did and straight away lowered my expectations of this so called 4 star establishment ....... It is more like a 2 star plus with a below average but edible breakfast buffet (with burnt scrambled egg).
As stated in other reviews the area isn't that great and there isn't much about also the bar down the road decided to charge us what they wanted (24€ for 2 large beers) that said the place is easy to get to and from the airport by bus which drops off and picks up virtually outside. Also there is the bus which picks and drops off at the same stops and takes about 10 mins to get into Venice itself.
As long as you are not intending on spending a great deal of time in the hotel and use it as a base for going into beautiful Venice then it's ok. However if you're looking for a real authentic hotel in Venice situated in a central location along the many canals then this is not the place for you.

Room Tip: If you are intending on spending time in your room other than to use as a base avoid room 505 as it...

Me and my girlfriend enjoyed a lot this trip to Venice, we were a bit concerned about not staying in the Island but fortunately all worked out well. This hotel has nice rooms, helpful staff, convenient location, good value for money. All you can ask for a good break, i would recommend this hotel.

My wife had booked a surprise holiday for our Anniversary, 3 days before the trip she disclosed i was all excited about the trip however got terrified looking at the reviews for this particular hotel in Venice Mestre. but kept quiet since the whole idea was so sweet. but guess what, on arrival at the hotel we were received so warmly by the staff knowing that we were on our first anniversary, we were upgraded to a nicer room and were presented with a bottle of wine too. the location was under a km away from the train station, the rooms was modern, big and clean. there was Free Wifi. Breakfast was adequate and nice. Free Parking is available though we didn't need it, which is otherwise a big plus in Mestre. The staff was very helpful at all times. All in all a nice little gem that added to a wonderful holiday in Italy and our Anniversary. We would be happy to come back again and recommend this hotel to others too.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade, if you don't ask for it you won't get it is what the receptionist said...

We (3 families) stayed at this Hotel for 2 Nights for our visit to Venice City.
Rooms are OK.
However, the Breakfast Quality was below average. Scrambled eggs was burned on both the days.
The Hotel is more of for Business Traveler.

I booked this hotel as part of a Groupon and it was a disaster from start to finish! I am convinced we were scammed by Groupon/KPX Travel. I refer to the old adage 'If it seems to good to be true, it probably is!' We arrived after travelling for a few hours only to be told that they didn't have a room for us due to a problem with the air conditioning on two floors. They told (not asked) us that we would be transferred to their sister hotel, the Albatross, which was another 20 mins away from Venice centre. While we were waiting for the taxi they called to arrive to take us, I looked on TripAdvisor and didn't fancy the Albatross much so my Husband asked to see the manager. He was very obliging (unlike the receptionist who seemed to not care less) and offered to transfer us next door to the Delfino - which actually seemed much nicer than the Ambasciatori! It ended well, but could have done without the hassle after our flights were messed up by KPX as well. All I can comment about the Ambasciatori is that is it is in a convenient location, the reception area seemed nice but I imagine the rooms are a little dated from the pictures. If they try the same to you, don't accept the inferior Albatross - ask for the Delfino!

We've spent 3 weeks traveling Europe and this is by far the absolute worst hotel! Old, dirty, lumpy bed, smelly and the worst breakfast! Thank goodness it was only 1 night. Location isn't that great and there are many more options at the same price. Stay away.
