“Great Location at Mestre station for Venice.”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

I have been visiting Venice for years & always stay in Mestre because it's cheaper, this hotel is the best hotel to stay in location wise. It is just a few metres away & directly opposite Mestre train station. There are trains every few minutes that take you to Venice Santa Lucia train station that takes about 10 minutes to arrive, at the time of writing the fare is really cheap at 1.80 Euro one way.

My room was very clean & the bed was really comfortable, bathroom was ok & air conditioner was not very powerful but fine for the climate. The buffet breakfast was good, maybe not the best but no complaints.

There is free WIFI & also free internet access on PC's in the reception & the hotel staff are friendly.

I would recommend this hotel if you choose to stay in Mestre & not Venice.

We chose the hotel for 1 reason, across the street from the train station.
Yes, location is 4 stars bur everything else was 1 star.

Stayed 8/17/13~8/18/13 for just a night (just checked out and writing this review).

We checked in late, around 10:30pm and got cleaned up and about to go sleep, but all the ceiling lights wouldn't turn off. When I spoke to reception about this over the phone, she didn't even say sorry and just told me to come down stair and get the key to my new room that she was going to assign. I got the key and went to new room and there no blankets at all. Come on now, this was past midnight! Spoke to reception about this over the phone again and she told me "i'll have someone send blankets up to your room" and just hung up the phone on me.
I got mad and went down stair to talk to her. I asked her for manager on duty and was told that no one is the manager on the weekend.

Breakfasts were provided as part of our accommodation and it was good.

Mattia at the front desk was very rude, treats you like your from another planet.

Overall my experience with this hotel was very disappointing and I wouldn't stay here again!

I visited Venice for four nights and decided to stay in Mestre, as the cost of a 4*, air-conditioned hotel was cheaper than in Venice itself. The hotel is extremely well placed: from Marco Polo airport, an ATVO (blue) bus takes travellers directly to the main train station at Mestre which is just opposite the hotel. Where the bus drops you off, simply walk up the road and you will see the hotel on the right. It cost six Euros per person to travel on the bus and you can use ticket machines in the airport (we used some by the luggage carousel) or you can use some which are outside. Remember to validate your ticket in the yellow machine before you board the bus.

The hotel staff were very helpful and let me check in a little early. The room was very clean and tidy and although it was single occupancy, I had a standard double. The room had a safe, minibar, television (none of which I used but which seemed new and in good order) and the bathroom was very nicely presented with a deep bath (one of the deepest I've seen anywhere!), a very powerful shower, basin, toilet and bidet. It was spotless.

The bed was made each day for when I came in from sightseeing (I even found the t-shirt I'd left in the bed had been folded nicely!) and the bathroom was also cleaned. Breakfast was served from 6.30-10 and had a huge array of produce: apricot croissants, mini plain croissants, small pain aux raisins, some beautiful bread for slicing and toasting, yoghurt, lots of different fruit, three different jams, nutella, eggs, bacon, cheese, ham and tea, coffee and juices. I was very impressed.

Checkout was smooth and we weren't disturbed at all. The room was air-conditioned and having been on all day, meant that when I went to bed I was able to turn it off (to avoid the noise keeping me awake) and for the room to stay at a nice temperature.

Trains to Venice depart every ten minutes from the station which is opposite and couldn't be more convenient. Mestre isn't the nicest of towns but it was always busy which made the place feel quite safe. The station was full at all times of the day and there were always plenty of families on the trains to and from Venice. Use the ticket machines to buy your ticket (1.20 each way) and make sure you validate by putting them into the green (not yellow) machines to be stamped. Trains to Venice are shown on a separate screen (Venice Santa Lucia). Coming back, use the ticket machine to tell you when the next train is and then find a train on the board which departs at that exact time.

I only ate at the restaurant once, which was the day I arrived. It was busy and there were locals eating there. It was quite cheap and presented quite nicely.

Overall I had a great stay in this hotel and would definitely return.

Room Tip: I stayed on the third floor (rooms 320+) and they were excellent.

This hotel is conveniently located in Mestre town opposite the train station and 5 minutes walk to the airport bus. Venice is a few minutes away by train and ticket cost 1,40 euro. Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast very substantial. WiFi in the room is free and the staff is very helpful. Don't pay overpriced hotels in Venice and stay in the place where you can relax after hectic day in Venice for much less price.

The room was well equipped but very small.Great location for train to Venice and bus to Treviso airport which stops outside.Breakfast was very good. Lots of overseas tour groups but quite well run and efficient. Nice reception staff.
Some ok restaurants nearby and much less hectic than Venice and better value.

We chose the hotel for two reasons, 4 star and across the street from the train station.
Yes the location is great but the hotel is not close to a 4 star, maybe 2 1/2 to a 3 the most.
The rooms are so outdated and the bathroom is very old especially the tub to shower. The toilet is located right in front of the sink and you have to squeeze in. Old carpeting in the room and the decor 20 years back. Wasn't pleased with the breakfast, ate bread with butter, got some fruit and it was bad. Juice station was dirty with juice spilled all over.
If you want location then this hotel is good.
