Went to this restuarant based on reviews here on tripadvisor, as we were staying in Mestre whilst visiting venice. The food is excellent - both authentic and easy to choose with the English copy of the menu. It is also very good value for money, both for food and wine. Overall a very good experience in a charming little eatery.

We decided to go here last-minute based on its location and reviews and oh wow am I happy we did. We've been traveling around Europe for nearly two years now and this is one of the best meals we've had. It boils down to tasty, creative food for a simply incomparable value. We ended up going two nights in a row and everything we tried was above-par, and I am typically pretty harsh if I think I'm not getting value for money. For example, a half-bottle of house red, 2 glasses of prosecco, a mixed appetizer, 2 pasta dishes, and one dessert cost us about 40 euros. The wines are local, beer is house-made, and the food is obviously cooked and constructed with care. It's not afraid to stray from typical Italian dishes and put its own spin on them, and it doesn't just use tagliatelle or spaghetti as pasta variations (it's the little touches that count!). Even better, one of the manager's mom cooks all the desserts and makes the absurdly good banana liqueur that we received free of charge with our bill.
Take a break from Venice one night - go to Vito Rossa! (and make a reservation if you want a table and dinner menu, otherwise it's standing room and small plates of "tapas-style" items...which are also amazing!)

Stumbed upon Vite Rossa with my wife and her parents for their birthday dinner. I had no expectations, but was blown away by the friendly and warm atmosphere (although the service can be a bit "fast-paced" if you're used to American style servers). Be patient, because the food, artisanal beer, and house wine are unforgettable. Each dish was creatively put together and presented, but not over-thought. Every thing from the simple finger foods to the prime cuts of meat were delicious. After two appetizers, three mains (technically 2 primis and 1 secondi), drinks all around, two desserts, and three coffees, the bill was only 86 euros. It's definitely worth getting outside of Venice to get a break from the crowds and have an authentic yet original Italian experience.

This is an unassuming, small restaurant in Mestre. The prices average €8 -10 for starters & Generous pastas. The main courses average €18.
The menu is written on a board (There is an English menu). Prepare to be Wowed! Ingredients are fresh with a twist to the traditional fare. Out desserts were all home made as was the complimentary banana liqueur we were offered... A wonderful end to our vacation.
