“Wow...a real beauty!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 21, 2013

My husband and I spent one night at Hotel Villa Costanza on our recent visit to Italy. It was the last night of our vacation before catching a plane home the next day from Venice airport (Marco Polo). On a previous visit to Venice we also stayed in Mestre. It's the town on the mainland, one train stop before Santa Lucia Station, Venice. Hotels in Mestre are more affordable than on the island of Venice. From Mestre you can either take a train or local bus (20 min. ride) onto the islands of Venice.

I was told Hotel Villa Costanza has been a hotel for 3 years now. From the train station it was a 10 min. walk with our luggage. Just a few blocks away and very easy to find in a very quiet neighbourhood. The next day we walked back to the area of the train station to find the airport bus station located beside the train station. This was much more affordable than a taxi to the airport. Buses to the airport run at least every 20 minutes.

Upon entering the hotel lobby we were so impressed with the decor....beautiful, tastefully done. We checked in quickly and were taken to a lovely ground floor room. It was an adequate size for 2 people and beautifully appointed. It had a spacious bathroom with shower stall.

This hotel has an outside covered patio with tables and chairs where you can order a beverage during the day or evening. We paid extra for the "buffet" breakfast, not included with the regular room rate. This breakfast buffet as a large selection of food, juices, coffees and teas on offer. Once again the presentation is immaculate.

All the staff we met were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We were sorry that we weren't able to stay any longer than one night at Hotel Villa Costanza. We highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for one night as an alternative to staying in the much more expensive Venice. The hotel was easy to find, only a short walk from Mestre station from which the trains into Venice are regular and only about 1.5 euros each way. The room was a decent size and clean, as was the bathroom. However during in our stay we heard some kind of rodent scratching away in one of the pipes above the shower however this did not interfere in our trip nor did we see any in our room. There is a no food policy in the rooms however we did get a recommendation from the staff for a pizzeria about 200m down Via Piave which was the best pizza we had in the whole of Italy.

We loved this hotel! The staff is so friendly & went overboard helping us find our favorite restaurant in Mestre(Hostaria Vite Rossa)!
Rooms were clean, had A.C., & wonderful showers!
About a 5-10 min walk from train station. From there you take the train in to Venice... Only takes about 10 min. and costs €1.40.
Neighborhood is a bit run down but perfectly safe for walking around... There is a great grocery store a couple blocks away and several ethnic restaurants that are within a few blocks.
Will stay here next time also!

We stayed two nights in Mestre as an alternative to Venice. It was a good choice. The hotel, fairly recently modernised (I would think), was in excellent condition throughout. The staff were very helpful. Private parking at rear (12 euros/night). Breakfasts very good at 8.30 euros. Just about 400 metres from railway station - or 200 metres from bus stop - for Venice. 20 minutes from Venice airport by car.

Room Tip: Some ground floor rooms face road. Back rooms face quiet car park.

Good clean hotel, all the basics you will need.
Basic continental breakfast. 15 min walk to Mestre centre where there are quite a few shops, bars and restaurants. Short walk to the train station and then a short train ride into Venice.
If I return to Venice I will be staying at this hotel again.

Ideally situated down a quiet street only 5 mins from the train station taking you into Venice. This train journey takes about 10 mins and costs 5 euros return per couple. Hotel immaculate, nice friendly staff. We stayed in the annex, room 1 which is at the rear of the hotel near to the car park and outside dining area. It was really peaceful and relaxing. You can sit out here and eat your food,, they would prefer you do this here than bring food into your room. There are some nice eateries close by for when you come back in from Venice. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel, located at short walk distance from the train station. Clean and quiet. Equipped with air condition. Staff very polite and helpful. Private parking lot available at extra cost. Breakfast relatively reach and diverse. WiFi connectivity available in rooms free of charge, but with slow speed.
