This is our 5th day in Italy and the second night in Mestre.
So far we've eaten so many pizzas and ice-cream so we wanted to eat a real local Italian food.
The food was great and special. Veey fresh and altough the waiterist's english wasn't perfect he did the affort and recommaneded on perfect dishes.
The price was totaly fair and in 40€ we ate a first dish - great Venacian sardins, 2 fresh home made pastas and a half bottle of wine (including service and covers).
If you are sleeping in Mestre during your Venice tour and want to eat in a good and pleasent restaurant with a smile and a great service - don't miss it!

Clean. Good food. Polite and courteous service. Reasonable price. A good place to know, a stone throw away from Mestre station. Food near railway stations is usually either over priced or horrible. This is a proper restaurant, an a side street 100 yards from the station.

Following reviews on tripadviser we tried this restaurant. We found the staff welcoming, but the food only average, we started with a vegetable soup and bruschetta, my husband had wanted the Oxtail but this wasn't available so he settled for the suckling pig, the only thing is that it wasn't suckling pig as he knew it but huge slices of roast pork all very tasty but not what he had expected, I had the calves liver which was delicious but with polenta ( a wedge of dried flavourless polenta) for dessert I had strawberries with lemon rather refreshing and my husband had a creme brulee. Together with a bottle of wine the cost was 61 euros

Reservations required if you want to eat before 10PM. Opens at 7:30PM and only a few tables. Excellent food and service. We enjoyed every bite, but you don't need to order a second course. So stuffed with delicious main course, we didn't have room for the great deserts.

We went there after seeing the very high rankings of this restaurant with high hopes....but we were quickly dissapointed. The moment we sat down and the servers realized that we were not locals (even though they were very friendly) we could sense that we were not getting the same servie as italians do ! as mentioned by someone else in a review.... for example our bread basket included only breadsticks while everybody elses had at least 2 types of bread and breadsticks....the menu was good with a nice selection of dishes....one pasta dish that was recomended by the waiter was rather sour and definately not worth the recommendation (home made pasta with tomato cheese and bacon) the other one we had was very nice (taggliatelle with scalops and zuchini) overall you could see the very good quality of the ingridients...but the chefs did not go the extra mile on preperation and presentation....unfortunately...we will be looking for other places for the rest of our stay
