We went to Villa Terri to celebrate my brother's 50th birthday, and there were 10 of us (8 siblings/partners aged 28-50) and our parents who are 74. It's setting is lovely, close to Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, and we hired 2 cars for which there was parking off the main road.
The road down to the Villa is "EXTREMELY" steep and long, this wasn't apparent from the information and given and was very difficult for our parents There is a porter available to carry suitcases and this is a MUST. But it was a toil having to carry food shopping etc such a long way from the car to the villa - the steps/path down to the harbour at the front of the villa were also quite steep/precarious, but there are some lovely bars/restaurants down there that are worth visiting, and the food is to die for.
The main living area is fantastic, very airy and spacious, and opens out onto a lovely patio/veranda area, with the most lovely view of the sea/harbour.
The bedrooms were basic, I had the twin room with the beds pushed together but as the frames of the single beds stuck out quite a way from the mattress, this room really is only suitable for children and used as single beds. The doors into the twin room were glass and had a makeshift curtain but you could still see down the sides of the curtain so it wasn't very private at all, and whichever way you put the beds, either the internal or outer doors couldn't open fully, and there was no furniture in the twin room at all apart from a bin ! Two of the rooms had bedside tables etc, but we had to carry chairs up from downstairs just to have something on which to out the usual dressing table stuff.
The wardrobes/drawers were 'communal' and on the landing which adjoined 3 bedrooms on one level, and the same for the other two bedrooms on a different level. So you will need a cover-up to make the dash from bedroom to wardrobe, and the only mirrors are on the inner wardrobe doors or the bathroom.
All-in-all, the downstairs of the villa worked very well, the bedrooms were basic to say the least and not happy about having wardrobes on the communal landing. The bathrooms were alright, toilet roll holders fell off the wall in 2 out of the 3 toilets as soon as you touched them, and the outside shower was far better than the bathroom ones, so quite disappointed.
