Many of the regular staff there to greet us,Mauro even remembered us from last year we were very pleasantly surprised by our room it was very spacious with a jacuzzi bath and stand in shower we even had a bookcase full of books. What I really like about this hotel is that they don't charge for little extras like your roomsafe and complimentary room on your last day, bottled water in your mini fridge it is truly all inclusive.Franco was on hand in the restaurant the food as always was excellent but what makes it memorable is the friendliness and efficiency of all the staff in this little gem of a hotel.Lisa has replaced Christian as bar manager and as well as making great cocktails does some smashing singing with Ignacious our lovely keyboard/guitar playing italian. The key to this complex is complete and utter relaxation if that is what you want but it is also an excellent base for exploring the historical attractions around Naples. It may not be the swankiest of places but for service and cleanliness you will find it hard to beat.

Room Tip: Great views from floors 2 and 3

Family holiday with son and daughter 19 and 14 - we all felt the same about our 11 night stay at this hotel in July!
We wanted family holiday to relax, spend quality time with our kids, enjoy good food, being looked after in beautiful surroundings with an opportunity to explore the many wonderful tourist places which were in very easy reach.
We have found Trip advisor comments fairly accurate and as a result had high expectations for our stay.
The hotel is beautifully located and whilst fairly remote has an excellent hotel mini bus service to Sorrento.
From there it is very easy to travel by local bus or train or boat to most places.
We went by train to Herculaneum which was brilliant - Pompeii was a coupe of stops before Herculaneum so both easy to do but probably best over 2 separate trips.
Positano by bus from Sorrento we would highly recommend and we picked up a boat at the port for our return to Sorrento.
Its not necessary to pay tour operator prices for trips as you can easily do it yourself for a fraction of the price. Comments were made by the tour operator guide which may put people off trying it themselves but take no notice!!
The staff at Conca Azzurra pride themselves on providing an exceptional customer service and are very professional - we would specifically like to mention Ramone, Aliysha and the guitar player who came several evenings to entertain guests.
Meals were lovely we all preferred the buffet style ones of which there were 3 or 4 during our stay, only because we could take our time.
We ate out a couple of times and would recommend seafood at the Lo Guarracino in Positano and cocktails at the Forno Bar in Sorrento and wonderful Italian food at Sant Antonino in Sorrento - would also recommend an ice cream parlour in the middle of Sorrento that has been going for over 150 years and provided B & B accommodation - the name however escapes us!

Room Tip: 1st or 2nd floor for best views

Our first visit to Italy, decided on the Sorrento area, looked through the brochures and we both decided the Conca Azzurra on paper ticked all the boxes for our needs....
We read tripadvisor and noted very similar comments on most reviews so we went for it, glad we did...
A really big thank you to all the staff, Luigi (Manager), Franco, Frank, Tina, Francesco, Salvatore, Cristian, Reception Staff, Shuttle Bus Drivers, and Friendly Housekeeping Staff...

Franco was great along with the restaurant team, fast and efficient is an understatement, bent over backwards to please us and fellow guests, after 10 days Franco managed to get my fiancée to get her room number right in Italian "310"..

Bar service was first class from Cristian and his team, International brands as highlighted in other reviews free flowing all the time, Cocktails left, right and centre too.....

Housekeeping was excellent too, rooms serviced fully daily by a team of friendly and always polite staff..

Luigi the Hotel Manager always tried his best to accommodate our requests, even during the busiest and taxing times of the day.

We decided to plan our own trips which we found easy to do and saved loads of euros too.
The hotel shuttle service runs all day to and from Sorrento, which has to be booked at reception, I would advise planning you stay accordingly, we managed to get places on the times we required always, but seats are limited and large parties can monopolise certain times..

We stayed on the second floor, room 310, we found it was quiet, had a great view of the resort and sea, Air Con was a little noisy, but we got used to it, Cocktails helped too.....
I would suggest the ground floor or the first floor to anyone with mobility needs as the second floor can be a bit of a climb....Ground floor rooms do have a small enclosed garden with sun loungers, however being on ground level you are nearer to nature!

My fiancée was attacked by Mozzies several times so I suggest taking repellent or her to deter them munching on you....

We don't normally return to the same destination as a rule for holidays, trying to see as many different countries as possible, but we both feel the Conca Azzurra in Massa Lubrense will be an exception on day....

Once again thanks to all the staff who made the holiday special....

Room Tip: We had room 310, from the images this room is on the top floor, second balcony from the right.. room 311 is the end room....I would recommend you e-mailing the hotel to find out if a suite is available. There is also a annex at the main gates with I believe 3 more rooms, but you would need to be very fit or reliant on the shuttle bus for venturing to the main house and restaurant facilities.

I'm not sure whether an instruction had been issued to tighten the purse strings, but it felt like standards had slipped a little. Weeds on the balcony, bare plaster repairs that hadn't been painted, evidence of damp on the bathroom ceiling. It felt a little unloved if honest, which is a real shame. The food wasn't quite as good and the service for drinks wasn't of the previous years plentiful supply. Gone was the bottle of wine on the table and replaced with a glass! If you could manage to grab a drinks waiter then you could get a drink. Last year they were in constant attendance 'asking' you if you wanted a drink. Don't misunderstand, the waiters are lovely and eager to please, but they didn't mix with the customers as much, so were unaware we were sat with empty glasses. I would still stay there again, but hope they can address these issues and return to the extremely high standard of the previous year.
