Very romantic and quiet restaurant with kind and helpful staff. Pure and tasty Italian cuisine. Excellent wine from weiter advice. Beatiful view for Marsala from roof terrace. We were there with our familiy with children and friends - 9 person - and it wasn’t problem with table. I recommend it for everybody who like Italian food! Not to expensive.

Well owner Emanuele Rosso made us welcome with a surprise pour of vintage Planeta’s 2013 bubbles, carricante from Etna, made at their western Lago Arancio property; austere, crispy, characterful.

The start was a plate so curious: a savoury, crunchy cannolo, stuffed with ricotta of course, basil and zucchini. I poured Firriato’s super blend of four; Quater Vitis, equal bits of catarratto, grillo, carricante and zibbibo; fruity but steely, and a foil for the powdery texture of ricotta cheese.

The pasta was a dream; ravioli, Emanuele’s own shape, big round devils filled with parmesan, salty, crunchy and dressed off with chicory, and some smelly bottarga to keep us reminded how much Sicilians rely on the sea for nourishment. And some ubiquitous semi dried cherry tomato. Poured was a stunning burgundian like Faro DOC from up near Messina, north east wine, Le Casematte, 2014; a hero blend of nerello mascalese, nerello capuccio, nocera and nero d’avola; tidy wine, soft and lifted.

Secondo was veal; a tender steak, bathed subtly with young marsala fortified wine sauce, and Modica chocolate folded in to give the reminder of the Aztec influence here from the 1500s. Wine was a hearty bottle of warm climate affected nero d’avola from the south west, Licata, Baglio del Cristo di Campobello, called Lu Patri, 2011.

Nobody gets away from this town without a drop of the namesake; so with a wicked semifreddo came a semisecco, medium sweet, vintage Marsala from Florio’s Targa Superiore Riserva 2003; nutty, drying, neat, light textured, the local stuff.

A top western Sicily address to eat. Our 2016 tour could not visit as Emmanuele closed his restaurant for his own nuptials, congrats mate.

Find this only by following the signs from the S115 about 5km north of Marsala. They will get you there. A good choice on the menu, especially a section for fish based dishes. I had the veal and it is as good as it gets.

For what it is, it is sensibly priced.

Excellent evening sunset location. Professional service and a good value tasting menu. What more could you want. Not sure it is open for lunch. It was shut the day we tried. But we persevered and returned in the evening. We did not regret it.
